My Beauty Tip of the Day: Long-Lasting Nail Polish
posted on October 17, 2012 at 3:45 pm
Girlies, I love doing at-home manicures…but my nails always used to chip as soon as I finished painting them! Luckily, a pro manicurist filled me in on some awesome tips for an at-home manicure that doesn’t chip:
- Use a base coat. It’s an extra step, but it helps your polish last so much longer!
- Don’t forget the top coat! The top coat seals in your color, helping eliminate chips.
- The hardest part–let your nails dry for at least 30 minutes! I always make sure to have a magazine nearby to distract me while I wait! Even if your nails seem dry after 15 minutes, the extra 15 will help seal the color and keep the chips away!
And if you want extra long-lasting nail polish, try gel nails. You can buy a home system at a drugstore, or go to a salon for an extra treat. It lasts seriously up to 16 days!
Now look at your beautiful hands and ask yourself, have you used those hands to do something good in the world today? It’s as easy as reaching out and hugging someone!
