MyAnna Buring Rocks Christmas Red and We Match Last Week’s Modest Favorite!

Hey sweet PI girls! With Christmas a little over two weeks away, I was inspired to select modest looks in my favorite Christmas colors. If you have a fancy holiday party to go to, consider a lovely dress like these!

What are your favorite Christmas colors? Don’t forget to check out our modest matchup, too!

Keira-Knightley

Keira Knightley

White for snowflakes and a winter wonderland! Here’s an adorable ballerina style dress with gorgeous lace shoulders and sleeves.

MyAnna-Buring

Red for cranberries and bows! I love this retro fit-and-flare dress. The subtle pattern and hint of black really enhance the simple, elegant design.

Ahna-OReilly

Ahna O’Reilly

Gold for glitter and tinsel! Here’s a beautiful gold dress featuring a die-cut pattern at the front. It’s fitted without being too tight, and falls to a great length.

Now for our modest matchup!

jennifer-lawrence

Last week, Jennifer Lawrence’s white double-breasted coat dress won our Modest Is Hottest poll, so I went in search of a similar outfit that could help you get her look!

Macy's
Macy’s

While there are white double-breasted dress coats available, I could not find one at a modest length. So a great alternative is to purchase a double-breasted fit-and-flare coat and wear it with a cute pair of pants! The one I selected is very similar to Lawrence’s dress design…what do you think?

Poll

Which of our three modest looks is your favorite?

Although I was lazy and never got around to voting, I like the selection this time!! The first and last are my favs! The middle one isn’t so bad. 😛 Much better looking choices than some in the past. 🙂

I love this post and look forward to it each week! I know many girls love the modest matchup, but I really liked the modest makeover because it helped me understand the line between modest and immodest. Is it possible to include the matchup and makeover, to make everyone happy? Great job and I love PI!!!

I looooooove Keira Knightly’s dress!!! I’m not a huge fan of her, but the dress is gorgeous!

The third one would be my favorite if it didn’t have a pattern and it was a little more fitted.

I love the third one! It’s pretty simple, but really chic and, for once, flattering! The top one is ok, but the sleeves are a little awkward… And the middle one.. Eh, the top is ok, but with no waist seam it comes across as frumpy, rather than retro bombshell.

You guys may just tear me apart but I didn’t love any of them this week. I like Kiera’s without the lacy sleeve thing. And the red and gold were okay but I just wasn’t excited about either. I really loved Jennifer’s coat and the matchup although I wish there were longer ones to be found, but I know better than to buy white for myself anyway:)

I agree. The first…looks so thrown together, like it was sewn last minute or something. Did not flatter her or look elegant in the least bit.

Goodness, can I vote for all of them this week?! 😀

I like Kiera’s, but not the sleeves. The sleeves are…weird.

I looove the red one. I have a red dress in a similar shape, with black polka dots. 😀

Not diggin’ the gold one. Not sure why, either.

I love J. Law’s coat, but unfortunately, I am the sort of person who should not wear white, lololol.

Haha, as much as I love the colour white, I unfortunately am accident prone. XD

I love love love Kiera Knightly’s dress and the modest matchup.
Thank you AlisonGrace for pointing out that it’s just her body type! I’m tall and slim also and it really bugs me when people are like ”are u on a diet?” ”Why are you so skinny?” It’s just who God made me to be which is tall and slim or boyish or rectangle or ”skinny” whatever u want to call it I’m not ashamed of it.

I love Kiera’s dress minus the long sleeves. I didn’t know that was her recycled wedding dress! Too cute!!!!

Loooove Kiera’s. That’s her recycled wedding dress! Too cute. And in response to misstake, Kiera is naturally that shape. Some girls are born skinny, don’t assume they’re anorexic!

Second is all kinda of awkward. Seems a few inches too long, not fitted enough at the waist, and the black strip of cloth is weird… It had potential though.

Third is probably my favorite. I love love love the color combo and FINALLY a dress that’s fitted correctly!

I love coats like that, and I like the matchup this week.

Keira Knightley is so beautiful! And so is her dress!
I also like the third one- so pretty!!

    1. I didn’t really care for this outfit though I do like ballerina style dresses.
    2. I love this dress! The color is beautiful and I love the retro vibe. The only thing I would change is the straps and length of the dress. I think the straps need to be a little more narrow and shorten the dress to the knees.
    3. This dress is gorgeous and I love the color and die-cut pattern.

Also, on #2, I would take out the black part of the top of the dress. It looks out of place.

I didnt really like any of the. The first one was barely covering her chest. Oh my goodness though, she looks soo skinny! :0 I will pray for her!

#1: LOVE! It looks so angelic and princess like!
#2: I LOVE LOVE LOVE retro looks so much, and this is gorgeous! The color is awesome!
#3: Not a huge fan of this one. It seems a bit tight, and the cut outs are odd.
