Pray With PI: Earthquake Survivors

Our Project Inspired community is a powerful network of believers. We want to bring awareness to events happening around the world that could use our prayers. Today we urge you to pray for the survivors, families and communities affected by three massive earthquakes on Saturday, April 19, 2016 in Japan and Ecuador.

A 7.8 earthquake struck coastal Ecuador. The death toll has soared to 272, Ecuador’s president Rafael Correa said on Sunday evening. That number is expected to rise as rescue teams dig through the rubble, he said. Estimates say that at least 2,527 people were injured. Read more.

 

Japan Earthquake

Two powerful earthquakes and a series of aftershocks struck the Japanese island of Kyushu. The death toll reached 41 on Saturday, the authorities said, as rescue workers searched for survivors under collapsed buildings and mountains of earth displaced by landslides. About 2,000 people were treated for injuries, the authorities said. Tens of thousands left their homes for school gymnasiums, community centers and other temporary shelter. Read more.

    Praying for the safety of those who survived and that God will comfort every family that has or hadn’t lost someone.

    I shall be praying. My family was deeply troubled when we heard about this as our hearts ache for those suffering and those gone 🙁
