Written by Julie Partin | January 8, 2017
Our Project Inspired community is a powerful network of believers. We want to bring awareness to events happening around the world that could use our prayers. Today we urge you to pray in response to the following current events.
A man opened fire in a baggage claim area of the airport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday, killing five people and wounding six. Authorities are still determining motives, but the attacker was a military veteran with recent mental health issues. Please pray for the victims, their families and the safety of all citizens traveling. Read more.
Six people have died and thousands were without power as a brutal winter storm continued to sweep across the U.S. and brought snow and ice to a swath of the Southeast, while strong winds and heavy rain battered parts of the West. Travel problems and frigid temperatures are expected to last through the week. Please join with us in praying for the homeless and those without electricity, as well as people driving on the icy roads during this storm. Read more; photo credit.
President-elect Donald Trump will take office on January 20, 2017, as President Barack Obama, his family and his administration began their farewells. America is in a volatile state of disarray as issues that many are passionate about could drastically change. Please pray for peace, compromise and God to guide our next president’s leadership.
