Stand Out With These 3 Modest Looks!

Hi PI Girls! I’m always looking for cute fashion trends, but often the trends for teenage girls tend toward the more “sexy” look…tighter jeans, off-the-shoulder shirts that expose your bra straps, cleavage….

You don’t have to go that route to stand out and you know it! Here are super cute ideas for a great, classy look that won’t compromise your morals!

The first “Look”: Cute Headbands and Hair Accessories

These cute hair accessories can make an outfit complete! If you’re having a bad hair day, put your hair in a bun or twist and simply add an accessory! Voila! You have a beautiful touch for a beautiful you!! Go to Claire’s for more ideas and affordable buys!

I love these cute headbands from Claire’s!

Also – for a fun, creative activity to do with your girlfriends, try making headbands at home. This is such a cute idea!

The second “Look”:ย  Boots & Scarfs

Get a great fall look with some cute boots – either tall or short. Forever 21 and Target tend to sell really cute shoes and boots for a reasonable price.

Also, Claireโ€™s sells cute scarfs and accessories that you will love!! <3. Here is an affordable Forever 21 scarf – only $10!!

The third “Look”: Dark Nail Polish & Cute Sparkly Jewelry

If you feel like you need to add a little something to your look, its simple – a new trend is dark nail polish. Try painting your nails dark purple, plum, chocolate brown or maroon. Red is also very popular going into the holiday season. You’d be surprised how many great colors you can find at your local CVS, Target or other drugstore. One tip: make sure you keep updating the top coat so you don’t have chipped polish! ๐Ÿ™‚

PI girls – if you want to go a step further, add a cute sparkle ring to your fall fashion style! They’re not expensive – most rings and necklaces at Forever 21 are under $5 – and they’re adorable!! I just love that store! *(Sidenote: Forever 21 is a Christian-owned store – I love how they keep their prices reasonable and everything is cute! If you look at the bottom of their shopping bags, you’ll find the scripture “John 3:16”).

Gorgeous PI girls! These are three hot fall fashion tips for beautiful you! May you be blessed this fall season!!

Forever 21 makes the CUTEST clothes. I bought a skirt there, and even though it was a little short, it looks AWESOME with some modest leggings!!! Best of all, my mom loves that store. She agrees with me that the clothes are adorbs!

I wish there were more modest jean shorts. I loooooove white and blue denim shorts, but they are always sooo short. I know there are bermuda shorts but they are always made to look unflatterting.

I really love the hair accessory and dark nail polish ideas!

I get so annoyed when I see girls wear shorts that look like denim underwear, I mean c’mon, seriously! I think it just screams “look at my body”. I also think that if you wear things that aren’t modest, you want people to look at you for your body not personality. Anyways, I’d go for boys basketball shorts anyday rather than denim underwear! =)
And I do love Forever 21!

I agree; denim shorts bug me the most! I don’t want to see anyone’s entire leg, so I only wear shorts either for sports or with some cute leggings underneath. I’ve also noticed that the variety of jeans at many stores consist of skinny cut, super-skinny cut, legging cut, sexy cut, and super-skinny-sexy cut. And then where do you find the normal cut? The mens’ section!!!!

  8. Posted by on November 25, 2011 at 09:09

I get so annoyed when girls wear shorts like look like denim underwear. Its basically just screaming “hey! look at my body!”. No one would want to be just known for their body and not their personality would they? Although I guess that’s just how some people might view them.
And yes, i do love Forever 21 too!

I know those are gross! I have a really amazing (might I add extremely handsome!!) guy friend and said that he hates those short because they are disgusting! We also stated talking about the fashion world one day and he said this “If I wanted to date a 12 year old boy with makeup on then I would agree with the fashion industry but I DONT!! I want to have a wife! and I donโ€™t want her to be so skinny that I can see her ribs! Or be so ripped that she has a six pack!! Thatโ€™s creepy!โ€

oops! I didn’t see the post below so I thought I had to make another! haha!

I actually find a lot of fashion trends pretty modest lately, which I love. Fair Isle sweaters are in for winter, and moccasins have been in fashion. Also, retro chic is back, though a lot of the skirts are shorter. It’s hard for me to find something long enough because I’m very tall (five foot ten :D), making skirts quite short on me even by today’s standards. But I am glad that there are a lot of things that are current right now that are wearable.

I never knew that about Forever 21! Im glad too, because a few weeks before I saw this, I fell in love with there stuff ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Posted by on November 20, 2011 at 15:18

F21 is Christian? SOOO much of their stuff is immodest! I like them but yikes.

that’s a cute look btw, how do you get the hair like that? especially when you have full bangs?

  12. Posted by on November 19, 2011 at 09:49

Is it ok to wear the tight jeans and low-cut shirts though? I mean, the skinny jeans I wear aren’t so tight that they threaten to cut off the circulation in my legs. They’re not really skin-tight. And I wear a lot of low-cut shirts, but I always have something else on underneath. I’m not showing anything off.

  13. Posted by on November 19, 2011 at 09:45

Forever 21 is Christian?!?! O: Didn’t know that. I’ll definitely have to start shopping there now, since my friends are always talking about how amazing their stuff is.

I never noticed that the bottom of the bag says John 3:16! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve always loved Forever 21! ๐Ÿ™‚ just another great and awesome reason to love it!

    • Posted by on November 26, 2011 at 11:54

I had no idea forever 21 was a christain store! thats col

  15. Posted by on November 3, 2011 at 15:17

It is so hard to be modest these days while still being fashionablly cute! I really love the one shoulder look (but not where your bra straps are showing… that like guys showing off their boxers… not cool) but it can look so not-godly if not worn right (which is probably why I haven’t moved into that area yet). Why can’t the world see that “modest IS hottest”?!

  16. Posted by on November 3, 2011 at 09:09

I realized the scripture on the bottom of the bag the other day!! I was like no wayyyy! time to whip out my bible.. I couldnt believe it. I love it.

  17. Posted by on October 30, 2011 at 16:39

i love the idea of head bands and i wear them all the time but alot of my other friend have shirts that are a little low and they seem to get more people to look there way it seems how can i do that when what i wear isnt wats cool?

      Posted by cheesecakelover110 on June 1, 2012 at 04:15

it doesn’t matter what’s cool. what matters if it’s what you think that God would want you to wear, and that you’re happy with your clothes and your style. don’t try to get people to look your way by something like that. You can easily do that by just being the one and only you. ๐Ÿ™‚

โ€œthis is cool ive never been into the whole โ€œsexyโ€ look i think it makes you look less smart. people assume ur not very intelligent if u dress that way, and i am proud to be a strait a studentโ€

I mean no offense, (and I know Iโ€™m very late to the party, but if anyone else is reading this thread later), your comment does NOT help you make your point.

This is cool. Iโ€™ve never been into the whole โ€œsexyโ€ look. I think it makes you look less smart. People assume youโ€™re not very intelligent if you dress that way, (and I am proud to be a straight-A student)!

Try that. There is a time and place for chatspeak, and arguing against wearing a certain type of clothing on the basis you think it makes people look less smart is the incorrect time. Just a tip.

    i love forever 21!!!!!

  20. Posted by on October 21, 2011 at 10:38

I agree Forever 21 is great for cheap clothes, but some items are simply distasteful. remember to be discerning, and not just think its good just because they print a text on the bottom of their bags. just saying’.

  21. Posted by on October 21, 2011 at 07:11

I LOVE Forever 21! I saw a post on Facebook where a girl wishes the store could be her entire wardrobe, and I totally agree with her!!! If I were to get a job at any store, it will definately be that one! (They’re clothes are so awesome!!!)

  22. Posted by on October 19, 2011 at 15:04

    this is great!!!

  23. Posted by on October 19, 2011 at 12:32

There is a really good book called “Secret Keeper: The Delicate Power of Modesty” by Dana Gresh. She doesn’t just give you a set of rules, she helps you UNDERSTAND why modest is hottest. Just check it out, you will not regret it!

  24. Posted by on October 18, 2011 at 19:01

I love this! Christina, the scarfs are an espcially good idea since it is chilly this fall and winter is on it’s way.

  25. Posted by on October 18, 2011 at 16:09

Ops! I accidentally voted for no because I read it wrong! ๐Ÿ™

  26. Posted by on October 18, 2011 at 14:54

I don’t believe modest is hottest…..I believe modest is actually trying to break away from the world’s image of hot. Hot is somewhat of a degrading and lustful adjective. How about modest is Beautiful? (:

    • Posted by on November 3, 2011 at 15:23

Whenever someone says the word “hot”… I immediately think of summer. Summer (for me) equals fun, exciting, lively, colorful, interesting, refreshing, etc etc etc. While the media has spun a sensual twist on the word “hot”, the motto “Modest is Hottest” (I believe) is referring to it in the same way as hot=summer. ๐Ÿ™‚ (Besides, no one wants to hang out with a cold Christian!) ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Posted by Nicole on October 18, 2011 at 18:05

My whole “Modest is hottest” motto is saying it IS beautiful, but I say hottest because it rhymes. But it means gorgeous, classy, stunning, etc. ๐Ÿ™‚

  27. Posted by on October 18, 2011 at 14:00

I’m trying to find a pair of dark brown mid-length boots with buckles and a little bit of a heel, but I’m having some trouble. Do you have any suggestions?

  28. Posted by on October 17, 2011 at 20:12

I actually like the shirt that goes off the shoulder a bit… of course, i wear an undershirt instead… the bra thing just looks tacky to me.

  29. Posted by on October 17, 2011 at 17:34

I *love* Forever 21! Also I have been using dark polish for awhile my favorite color is really dark, almost black but when you double take it is actually a deep plum it’s exquisite! ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. Posted by on October 17, 2011 at 15:13

So cute! I would rather look classy anyway. Plus being modest keeps you warm, too!

  31. Posted by on October 17, 2011 at 13:05

how can forever 21 be a christian owned store if tons of the clothes there are short?

    • Posted by on November 3, 2011 at 15:26

Even though they are a “Christian” store, they still have to make $$$ in order to continue being a store. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Posted by on November 20, 2011 at 15:19

oh, so you mean they sell out, like Katy Perry or Jordin Sparks.

    • Posted by on October 18, 2011 at 08:42

yah, Forever 21 has a lot of really cute tops and jewelry, and I bought a really cute ‘midi’ sundress there this summer, but aside from a couple of maxi skirts, usually every other skirt there is extremely short!

      • Posted by on November 26, 2011 at 07:07

Trust me Sarah!! I think they make all the money they want! and since they are promoting Jesus- I’m sure he blesses their efforts! ALOT!

  32. Posted by on October 17, 2011 at 08:45

Scarves are great cause they can cover cleavage on a low-cut shirt!

  33. Posted by on October 17, 2011 at 07:30

Love scarves and boots…basically my fall uniform! I also always wear my beautiful silver delicate cross necklace and earrings, so that helps…I’m always looking for easy ways to look more polished every day! also, try getting a cute new jacket for fall- it will make you look more put-together no matter what else you’re wearing.

  34. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 21:28

What about clothing? You mentioned tight jeans? Does that mean the ones that cut off your circulation? Or skinny jeans? Because in all honesty, skinny jeans is really the most comfortable thing that I’ve ever worn before, that actually look good.

    • Posted by on October 18, 2011 at 08:43

I looove skinny jeans, but not ‘skintight’ ones…they look great with boots!

      • Posted by on October 19, 2011 at 13:57

skinny jeans dont always have to be tight. i think she just means the skintight ones

  35. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 14:58

I like these- theyre so cute!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  36. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 13:19

i love these! you’re right-its so hard to find cute but modest clothes these days

    • Posted by on October 23, 2011 at 17:53

I agree! For example, you can’t find that much longer shorts anymore, all of them are super-short shorts! It drives me insane!

  37. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 12:07

These are really cute ideas! I defiantly like them better than the “sexy” look ๐Ÿ™‚

  38. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 12:03

I’m not too crazy about Claire’s, their stuff is just a little too girly sometimes, but I was in Target the other day and saw some fantastic boots for great prices! Thanks for the tips!

    • Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 15:07

have you heard of Icing by Claire’s? i agree the Claires is too girly for me, but i really like the stuff at Icing

  39. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 12:00

I love this! I am big into style, and always have been. Everybody says I am really unique in my styles.
But it seems like my style is becoming popular! I’ve been wearing dark polish, scarves, boots, miniskirts paired with leggings, crazy hats and hair pins, and insane colors for a long time, but I like that “my style” is becoming popular. ๐Ÿ˜€
I think I’d like to look up this store. Forever 21? Sounds great!
Thanks for the cool tips and the update!

  40. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 09:07

Nice tips! I just bought a pair of boots from alloy but they’ll be on backorder until the 28th -_- So these are some awesome trends to buy while I’m waiting. ๐Ÿ˜€ my brother is always telling me I don’t ever acessorize (funny but true) although don’t get him to admit that around his friends.;)

  41. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 08:41

I love these! Fall is my favorite time of year! and winter! its that wonderful time where i can wear all of my favorite styles! Thanks!

    • Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 19:13

Indeed. Hollister is also over-priced. I tried to go in there once to buy a scarf. I found one that I thought was adorable until I found the price tag. $50 for a scarf is insane. D:

  42. Posted by on October 16, 2011 at 08:31
