    2. What’s your favorite quote about family?-

Through Him, all things were made, and without him, nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.” It’s such a powerful opening to a more powerful story.
I also really like the ending of John, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” John 21:25

Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

” Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?

Sam: That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for. ”
–J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings

― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

I absolutely love this survey because quotes are one of my favorite things. I’ve made so many quote posters for friends and family and their are quotes covering my room. We all need a little inspiration, right?

    1. What’s your favorite quote about God or Christianity?
“Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”

    2. What’s your favorite quote about family?
“Being a family means you are part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life, no matter what.”

    3. About friends?
“A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you forget the lyrics.”

    4. About love?
“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them in mutual weirdness and call it love.” -Dr. Seuss

    5. About dealing with hardships in life?
“When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing one of two things will happen; there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.” That is one on my favorite quotes and I love it because it shows that through all over our hardships we can look to God to help us.

    6. What’s your favorite funny quote?
“I am who I am. Your approval is not needed.”

    7. Your favorite Bible verse?
“She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25

    8. Your favorite inspirational quote?
“Giving up on your goal because of one setback is like slashing your other three tires because you got a flat tire.”

    9. Whose quotes do you often find yourself drawn to?
I love all kinds of quotes from any author, young or old.

    10. What’s your all-time favorite quote?
I have so many favorites, that it’s hard to choose. One of my favorites, though, is “The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with every one else’s highlight reels.” -Steve Furtick

    1. “If you want a religion to make you feel comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.” -C.S. Lewis. That quote reminds me that being a Christian doesn’t mean happiness and comfort all the days of our lives. It requires going outside our comfort zone and reaching out to others.

    2. I don’t know many quotes about family, sadly.

    3. “Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens.” J.R.R. Tolkien. Reminds me that I should NEVER be a “fair weather friend”. I should be a friend, and find friends, who will be a friend even when things get tough.

    4. “There is no greater love than this: That a man should lay down his life for a friend.” (I can’t remember exactly what verse that is)

    5. “The problem is not the problem. Your attitude about the problem is the problem.” Helps me to remember not to throw a pity party when things get tough, and to have an attitude of faith that says: “I know God will get me through this.”

    6. “It doesn’t work on wood!!!” “Well that’s just rubbish!” “HEY! Don’t dis the Sonic!” -The Doctor and Rory (From Doctor Who)

    7. “”For I know the plans I have for you,” Says the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.”” Jeremiah 29:11

    8. “You don’t just give up. You don’t just let things happen! You make a stand, you say no! You have the guts to do what’s right, even when everyone else just runs away.” Rose Tyler – Doctor Who.

    9. No one in particular.

    10. I have two: “There’s some good in this world Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for!” Sam – LOTR

Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps it is because I am afraid, and he gives me courage.” -Gandalf
