Want Your Hair in Pretty Waves? Here’s An Easy Way To Achieve it!

I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error when it comes to soft waves. I always did it wrong and my hair wouldn’t budge from being straight. I’ve finally got it down so I want to share it with you. Here’s 5 easy steps to to getting pretty waves!

  1. Use a thickening product called Rusk to give your hair more body and texture. Spray all over and blend it in with your hands.
  2. I blow dry my hair with my head tilted down and my hair flipped over for for volume.
  3. I separate my hair into sections and then wrap 1 inch parts of my hair around the barrel of the Sultra curling iron. This is available at Sephora. It’s 10x better than a regular curling iron that clamps around your hair.
  4. I use a hand mirror to check the back of my hair and make sure I curled the back.
  5. I spray on True Color shine spray to create a glossy finish. Miracle 10 spray (available at drugstores) is also good for this.

** By the way the corkboard you see behind me is for my next vision board. 🙂

Now rock your waves and get ready to receive compliments!

You look very pretty! I don’t know how many times my straight haired friends (I’m a naturally curly) tell me their hair never stays curled. I can’t wait to show them this!

ive never been able to do flat-iron curls, they always messed up. then i watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_xJAHKzeUw and they turned out great last time! they’re still loose and soft. i love this whole channel; she has really cute and easy hairstyles that are good for everyday wear.

When ever I want my hair wavy I scrunch my hair with sea salt when it’s wet, it works for me I don’t know if it works for all hair types:)

What type of product do you use to get this effect?

Lucky, lucky, lucky. I have these two annoying little “curls” in the bottom of my hair that curl towards my chin. They would look fine for a 5 year old, but not for a high-schooler

I think that sounds cute!! In my opinion, I like hair with some curls rather than stick straight hair!

Is there any other good curling irons that are a little bit less than the bombshell one? I dont have that much money for that one right now…

When I was really little my mom used to roll my hair up in clean socks at night (usually for church the next day). We would take them out in the morning and it would make my hair curly & wavy.

Which product is it by Rusk?

What if I have already thick hair that blowdries straight?
Because I have sort of short hair, and I would like it if it was wavy too 🙂

I blowdry my hair too and it’s straight- the key is the curling iron by Sutra. It’s the most amazing curling iron ever- I promise you won’t regret getting it. here’s the link: http://www.sultra.com/styling-irons-the-bombshell.asp. Make sure you wrap your hair around the barrel, (twirl it) and wear the little pink glove it comes with so you don’t hurt your hand. 🙂 You will get such pretty curls!
