Why I’m Excited About Kevin Jonas’ Reality Show Debut

TAGS: , , , , ,

Ladies! Last year I informed you that Kevin Jonas would be doing a reality show with his wife. Well, I just wanted to let you know that it’s debuting this month!

The show is called Married to Jonas and will follow the lives of Jonas and his wife, Danielle. As with many reality shows, viewers will be witness to the everyday ups and down of the couple, their relationships with their friends and families, and work endeavors. Yes, that also means there will be many appearances from the other two Jonas brothers, Joe and Nick.

I’m not one for promoting reality shows, especially since the majority of them glorify bad behavior. But I do know that some of you ladies are looking for good shows to watch. Good, wholesome shows are hard to find these days, and this is why I’m excited for this show. I’m hoping and praying it will be a positive watch.

Based on the trailer, it looks like it might be fun. Take a look for yourself.

Along with my excitement, I must admit that I am a little apprehensive.

In my post last year, I admit I was a little cynical about the prospect of yet another reality show hitting the networks. I wrote:

So how will the Jonas couple manage to survive in the existing reality show cesspool? Will Kevin exalt Christ in his new show, or will that be too boring for viewers? Maybe Kevin and Danielle will teach viewers that a healthy lifestyle and marriage can be fun and exciting. How great it would be if we could be inspired by people behaving decently, rather than people falling down drunk.

As you know, many reality shows are popular because of their controversial content. The producers of these shows expect and demand controversy. Whether it’s through fighting, bad language, sexual content or any other immoral and un-Christian behavior, most viewers of reality shows are entertained only by bad behavior.

I’m still praying this show will change the character of reality shows. I pray this Christian couple is not tempted to follow the lead of the gross reality shows in an attempt to be popular or seek fame. But rather, I pray that Kevin and Danielle use their opportunity to clean up the airways and provide a fun, wholesome show that not only entertains, but teaches the masses that being good is better than being bad. Because being good is cool. Being good is fun. And being good is pleasing to God.

Married to Jonas debuts Sunday, August 19 at 10pm on E! Will you be watching?

It has been really good. I feel like it is a good show for Christians!

I hope people will come back and comment now that we have seen a few episodes. I don’t think i see anything that is like, aimed at people who profess Christ as their savior, or hoping to show God to non-believers. I hoped for that too, since the first thing i knew about these guys was the purity rings discussion!

This is such a GREAT show! The Jonas’ are great role models. In the second episode Keven made a big deal about making it to church on time and it shows them praying. One of his interviews he talks about his religion and you can tell its not staged, he means it.

I wish his wife would stop taking the Lord’s name in vain, it makes me sad. I bet she isn’t even aware that she is, the sad thing is that so many people do it, its “no big deal” anymore. We need to not take the Lord’s name in vain! He died a terrible death so that we could be saved and we sling His name around like nothing. So maybe this could be a lesson for any of us who have fallen into that habit, and hopefully someone in her life who has the appropriate relationship with her could say talk with her about it in a loving way <3

I’ve been LOOVVIINNGG this show! I do hope it stays clean and wholesome although I fear that it won’t just because it is hard to stay good and then get good ratings…HOWEVER if people like us continue to faithfully support them then maybe we can show the world that we are not all looking for trashy entertainment! So I am praying for this couple and this show! I’m in love it with so far so here’s too more fabulous episodes! :)

I just think the first year of marriage should be so special and time for the newlyweds to really share special time that will be hard to find once kids come along.

I think the thing that – and I do not know the hearts of the Jonases! – makes me sad is that his wife seems so very very anxious and stressed out all the time. I have seen one full eps and parts of 2, and i just want to hug her! I do so hope she will get out of the habit of saying “Oh my G–!”. That’s such a habit with so many people these days but it makes me cringe still. :( I hope this is a quick season & they can get back to life as normal as it can be when you are that famous.

I think it is really so interesting that the only couple/family who haven’t divorced are the Osbournes! :) And the Duggars, of course, i just forgot them for a sec. I just see this nice young couple and recall “Newlyweds”. What a sad ending to *their* lives, and who knows how much was caused by making personal life so public?

I’ve seen about two episodes of the show. In one of the episodes they had in which his sister-in-law was getting ready for prom, and at the end of the episode, while he was dancing with his wife, he stated that, “people expect to get lucky on their prom night” and something about he hopes he gets lucky with his wife tonight. I thought that was very inappropriate. Because he’s basically insinuating that your supposed to have sex on your prom night. It was a sexual innuendo that was said. I’ve decided not to watch the show.
