    We have likely all been faced with the down, discouraging, disturbing news reports that have released daily in the midst of this pandemic – reports about the stock market dropping, workers losing their jobs, people losing their loved ones to the virus, children getting sick, and so much more.

    I’m here to tell you, however, that in the midst of a dark and potentially scary time, there is still reason to rejoice! There is still good news out there, heartwarming stories that will warm your heart and bring a smile to your face instead of stealing your joy or make you afraid. With that in mind, without further ado, here are 10 wonderful news reports that I pray will encourage your heart today! God is still on the throne, and His people are still blessing one another!

    1. A Father Steps in to Make His Daughter’s Crushed Dreams Come True After Her Prom is Canceled 

    This story of a father from Alabama who set up a prom experience in the family living room for his daughter whose senior prom had been canceled will make you cry! It’s absolutely precious; be sure to watch the video, too!

    2. Taxi Driver is Applauded by Doctors and Nurses

    This is another video that will drive you to tears! A taxi driver in Spain had been giving free rides to and from the hospital to coronavirus victims. One day, the staff at the local hospital banned together to surprise him with a round of applause when he showed up to offer a patient a ride. In addition, they gave him a collection gathered by the hospital staff to help cover the money he had lost amid this act of kindness and generosity. Such a beautiful story and a beautiful moment to behold!

    3. A 99-year-old WWII Vet Raises 22 Million Dollars for Health Care Personnel 

    This heartwarming story of a WWII Vet who had recently broken his hip was trying to recover and regain his strength and wanted to bless the health care workers who are so overworked during this time of the pandemic is sure to become a favorite!

    4. Shut-In New Yorkers Give Nightly Applause to Health Care Workers During Shift Change

    Every night at 7 pm on the dot, citizens of New York City take to their balconies, fire escapes, and wherever they can stand outside to offer health care workers on shift change a standing ovation for all their hard work. These breathtaking pictures are truly something to see!

    5. Convenience Store in Edinburgh, Scotland Hands Out Free Coronavirus Care Packages to the Elderly

    These care packages contain medication, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and tissues and are compiled and given away free of charge to the elderly in the area. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture!

    6. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District Bands Together to Provide Children with Free Breakfast and Lunch While Schools Remain Closed

    It has been estimated that 22 million American schoolchildren who rely on school lunches to have any food to eat will go hungry for the duration that the nation’s schools are unexpectedly closed. Across the country, folks are stepping up to bridge the gap and provide for those in need. Such is the case with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, which is providing both breakfast and lunch to these children every day of the week!

    7. Hyundai, Genesis will Make Up to 6 Months of Payments on Behalf of Car Buyers

    For folks who have recently purchased new vehicles but have also just lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic, Hyundai and Genesis are offering to foot the bill for six months!

    8. Perfume and Cosmetic Factories in France Choose to Instead Begin Producing Free Hand Sanitizer

    Certain perfume and cosmetic factories in France have chosen to shift from producing their regular products to instead begin producing hand sanitizer – all for free!

    9. Maine Landlord Waives April Rent Due

    A landlord in Maine has chosen to go without payment of any kind from any of his residents for the entire month of April, completely waiving the rent payments that would have been due this month. What a blessing this must be for those who have lost jobs or aren’t making the same amount of money they used to amid this virus pandemic!

    10. The CEO of Delta Chooses to Forego His Own Salary for 6 Months

    In a time when airlines are suffering perhaps more than any other line of work, the CEO of Delta has chosen to waive his salary for an entire half of the year in the hopes that, in so doing, he will be able to prevent having to lay off anyone who works for Delta Airlines. That’s a heartwarming story for you for sure!
