10 Prettiest Purity Rings

Ladies, it’s clear in scripture that purity is expected of Christians. For example, in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, it reads, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.”

There are many things you can do that can help in your endeavor to remain pure. One is to wear a purity ring. A purity ring is a solid promise to God that you’re dedicated to remaining pure. It also reminds you and others of that promise to God.

Check out the following 10 pretty purity rings!

    1. I have a purity ring. It’s a simple silver band with “1THES4:3-4” engraved on it. I got it from the Silver Ring Thing back when I was eleven (that was five years ago…time flies fast). Here’s 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4.

“3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable . . . ”

It’s not embellished with flowers or anything like that, but it’s special to me nonetheless.

    2. I love the first one but I also liked the “love waits” part on the others. I don’t have a purity ring b/c it’s never really come up and I don’t really like wearing jewelry on my hands and wrists. But i might get one.

    3. I had a purity ring. It was gold with a tiny diamond in the middle. It was my mom’s. The sad thing is, I had to take it off each day for gymnastics and one day, when I got home, it wasn’t there. We never found it. 🙁

    4. I had a ring from the Silver Ring Thing. It eventually fell off of my finger in a movie theatre and I couldn’t recover it. It’s funny to tell people that I lost my purity ring in a movie theatre.

But in all seriousness, the concept of a purity ring is very toxic and sex-negative. I was given the ring at a young age, when I didn’t even understand the concept of sex, marriage, or divorce. When I was older, I realized that waiting was the wrong idea for me. If you rush into a marriage, you aren’t going to be happy, and you may not be satisfied with your partner.

Additionally, this teaches young girls that virginity is the most valuable thing about them, and that marriage is their greatest aspiration. It teaches them that no man could ever care about a woman who’s “spoiled goods.” And none of that is true.

It’s FINE and HEALTHY to have sex before marriage, if you think that’s what’s right for you. The point at which you’re ready to have sex is a personal choice, and a choice that is best-made when you are well informed–biologically and emotionally. If waiting is for you, that’s fine–but if you make a fairly public decision at a young age and change your mind when you’re older, it might be awkward.

      • I agree with Natalie… sex before marriage is a sin. Some girls can’t help that they were impure before marriage (i.e. rape) but a good part of us can.
1 Corinthians 7:2 – But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
Hebrews 13:4 – Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

      • The Bible makes it very clear that sex before marriage is sinful. So, ” our choice” is to live by the Bible. You can’t agree with the Bible halfway and make up your own opinions about others. Girls have more worth than just virginity, and the only reason virginity is the focus here is because that’s the topic of the article. No one ever said the only thing a girl aspires to do is get married.

    5. I got a promise ring from my parents for my sixteenth last month. It’s a symbol of their promise to me and God’s promise to me but also sort of a purity ring, in that it will only ever be replaced by my wedding ring one day. Its silver with sort of an infinity pattern to the band and a white sapphire in the middle, and two tiny diamonds on either side of that. I love it, and dont even take it off for gym class.

    6. I don’t have a purity ring and I’m pretty much still as virgin as everyone else. My dad comes from a church that didn’t believe in jewelry so it still influences him I have always wanted one though.

    7. I have a purity ring and it says ” purity – Matthew 5:8″
So I have always worn it on my left ring finger. I was wondering if that was the best place to wear it or should it be on another finger?
