10 Unlikeliest Things to Be Thankful For

Ladies, usually when we give thanks, we share our gratitude for our family, friends, food and God’s amazing grace. And while those things are really important things to acknowledge, there are other, less obvious things we should be thankful for.

    1. Health. Often, we take the most important things for granted, such as our health. Don’t wait for sickness in order to appreciate your wellness.
    2. Siblings. Yes, brothers and sisters can be annoying. But they’re just as much a blessing. You may not appreciate them until you’re all grown up, but don’t wait until then to be thankful for them!
    3. God’s Word. It’s your comfort and your guide, and God gave it to you to help you stay on the right path.
    4. Freedom. We live in a free country, but not every country is free. And not every country allows you to worship freely.
    5. Prayer. God gave us a way to communicate our needs, desires, worries and dreams. It’s our connection to Him.
    6. Bad times. They’re going to come, but they make us stronger, bring us closer to God and help us appreciate the great times.
    7. Another day. It’s another opportunity to live, love, pray, dream, achieve, do a good deed, glorify God and so much more. Be grateful for it.
    8. Discernment. God blessed us with it so that we could make the right choices. We should not only be grateful for it, but also make sure we use it well.
    9. Being a Christian. It means God’s on our side. How can we not be thankful for that?
    10. Forgiveness and second chances! He’s an amazing and loving God who wants us to journey toward Him, and His forgiveness is the most awesome gift! Don’t take advantage of it and always be grateful for it.

Ladies, what unlikely thing are you thankful for?

    1. I’m thankful that you guys took away the ads that were inside the articles… Oftentimes the ad would distract me, and then I would stop reading the article to go to the forums or another website or something.

    2. I am thankful for my school. I’m getting a good Christian education and for that I am thankful. School can be not so fun at times, but knowing I’ll benefit from it greatly makes it worthwhile! 🙂

    3. For awhile, I was trying not to ask God for anything and simply thank Him for the little and big things. Totally eye-opener and can be transforming! He always gives, and He loves to do it because of who He is 🙂 I remember this life lesson from somewhere I had read “Life may not be tied with a bow, but it is a gift.”

    4. I am thankful for small financial ‘tight spots’ from time to time. Don’t get me wrong, if it were a constant struggle I don’t think I would be saying this lol but, a tight spot here and there has helped me make wiser financial decisions and develop better money management skills..I wish to be the best steward I can be!

    5. I am thankful for having food on the table, and any choice of food!! Clean water, doctors, a country that allows me to vote and choose the way I live my life. I’m thankful for these things because so many don’t have any of them. 🙂

    6. I am thankful for everything listed above and my cross country team. In my cross country season I formed so many bonds that will last a lifetime and they have all become like sisters to me. I am also thankful for PI, because it is my go to website if I feel like surfing the web and doing it safely.

    7. These are wonderful things to be thankful for! Sometimes we really thank God so quickly, we forget about the little things in life that may seem little, but they’re so extensively important; I’m definitely going to thank God for these things in the future! 😀
