10 Ways to Honor God Through Social Media

Social media can be wonderful and terrible at the same time! It manages to be connecting, addicting, fun, detrimental and so much more all at the same time.

The good thing about social media is it is ours personally to run! Which means that we can use it for good, and even better, for God’s glory.

Here are 10 great ways to make sure you spend your time on social media honoring God!

    1. Tweet a Bible verse daily.
    2. Take beautiful pictures and add encouraging thoughts. Post to Instagram and then pin them on Pinterest.
    3. Pray for every person who posts on your Facebook wall each day.
    4. Write quick reviews of great Christian books you just read, songs you listened to or the church you go to. Give them a shout-out and encourage others to check them out.
    5. Go back through all your social media accounts and delete any old posts, pins, videos or photos that are dishonoring to God or don’t represent you well as a Christian.
    6. Don’t post any dirty jokes, pictures or videos, no matter how funny.
    7. Use language online that would make Jesus proud if He were sitting next to you while you were on your laptop, tablet or phone.
    8. When you post a favorite verse or encouraging thought, tag friends so they will see it and read it.
    9. Share and re-post friends’ prayer requests.
    10. Pray for our country, its leaders, for other countries in conflict, and for the people and stories you see in the headlines on social media sites.

We hope these tips help you discern what you should be sharing on social media. While it can be addicting, it can also be a positive place to share your love for God!

    1. I should start doing that and stop writing or putting things that are not necessary to be posted! If I want to encourage others to know about God and I want to worship the Lord one day, then I need to be an example. Thank you guys!
