If you like to talk tomatoes,
If a squash can make you smile,
If you like to waltz with potatoes,
Up and down the produce aisle…
Could you not help but sing along with these lyrics? Did you picture a round of talking vegetables including a cucumber with a sousaphone (and don’t you dare call him a pickle)? Then chances are you grew up a true VeggieTales Kid. Journey with me for a brief moment through childhood…

Oh my goodness, all of these apply to me!
OMG!!!!!! I love all the Veggie Tales
Okay, true story time. In my house, none of us can really ask “Where is my hairbrush?” Why? Because someone will end up singing the rest of it, and then someone else will join in. One of my close friends that I told this to told me that the next time she comes to my place, she will say, “Where’s my hairbrush?” I’m officially scared now. HAHA.
That sooo sounds like my family! One second a person asks where the hairbrush is…next second we are singing oh where is my hairbrush? At the tops of our lungs. Followed by the bunny, his cheeseburger, or Barbara manatee!
Oh my gosh, that’s awesome!
You didn’t even mention the fact that that I’ve turned into the pirates who don’t do anything.
I’m a total VeggieTales kid!!
I relate with number 15; I think the old ones are the BEST and just don’t care much for most of the newer movies after they stopped doing Bible Stories.
Except The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. That one’s fantastic!
Also I saw “Barbara Manatee” recently and suddenly realized that as a child, I could never have known that I would kind of be like that now, when watching a certain beloved BBC show… 😉
My dad used to be a children’s pastor and is die-hard “Veggie Tales” fan. We actually got to go to a special screening of “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything” for children’s pastors and their families before anyone else saw it. Best moment of seven year-old me’s life! It’s so true that you never outgrow “Veggie Tales”. I’ll admit it, sometimes I still sing “God is Bigger Than the Boogieman” when I get scared or nervous…. And it does help. 🙂
lol! so true!! And as I was looking at #13 (w/my little 5 yr. old sister) she goes, “Wait! Why do they have arms???!!!!”
My dad was a chaplain and we were introduced these videos when we went to centrifuge one year with our youth group back in the mid 90s.. i have no idea what the puppy song is, but I will never forget the bunny song…. “The Bunny, the bunny, whoa I love the bunny…” I still sing the hairbrush song from time to time.. My hubby always gives me the “what the heck are you singing?” look when he catches me singing that song. lol
8 and 11 (but definately 11) I freakin LOVED the Rumor Weed! I’d rewind the song on the tape and play it over and over again. As for no. 18… Sorry, puppy song! “The Battle is Not Ours” was (and still is) a MILLION times prettier than that from a 4-now-19-year-old (not to mention I loved how the trailer for said movie was done with the character voiceovers and it zoomed out on the logo)…and tie em up and beat um up and THROW THEM OUTTA BABYLON!!!
Yes! This is so me! And that functioning adult is my mom lol!
“Oh where is my hairbrush!” That is me every time I am looking for my hairbrush!
The silly songs though ?
love them silly songs.
Esther was my favorite episode. I still have it on VHS 😀
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the Veggie Tales memes! Every time I see them I have to read, laugh till I cry, and send them to all my friends!!! SO AWESOME! My only question is what happened to the other Veggie Tale articles like this one?? 🙁
All SOOOOO true!!!!!
