    Healthy Meal Prep Ideas for Food on the Go

    This week, I want to share a video from YouTuber Ashley Nocera, who did a great job of preparing three delicious and healthy meals.

    For the three meal ideas she does breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the meals may require an oven, so you can always replace the ground turkey with pre-made chicken or cooked ahi if needed. You can always supplement any of the veggies for salad or fruit if you have a preference.

    These are just a few inspirational ideas to help get you started with meal preparation—making meals to eat on the go and putting them in Tupperware. The benefits of preparing meals in advance before your week starts are that it will ultimately save you time and money and it will be healthier. Sometimes, you may feel you have to buy food on the go and you end up spending more money and eat out at fast-food restaurants more frequently. 

    Anyone want to change their eating and spending habits? Can I get an amen? Well, check out the YouTube tutorial for meal prepping. Many of you are in dorms, so you don’t have to do the meals exactly as seen in the video—it’s simply to inspire you to prep meals before your week starts. 

       

    Three Healthy Meal Prep Ideas from Ashley Nocera

    1. Breakfast: Oats/grains in a Tupperware container (1/2 or 1 cup of oatmeal). Include protein powder, fruits and chia seeds if desired. 

    2. Lunch: Ahi tuna (rare or cooked), with arugula salad and brown rice. 

    3. Dinner: Ground turkey thoroughly cooked with parsley flakes, olive oil and paprika in a pan (or buy pre-cooked chicken). Enjoy with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Side: Roasted red peppers (cooked or raw) to add on top of the dish in the plastic containers. Add another side of freshly cooked zucchini with olive oil and garlic powder. (Note: Add any flavor seasoning you prefer, or just use olive oil and salt and pepper.)
