5 Amazing Renditions of Popular Hymns!

A couple of weeks back, we held a poll on the site about your favorite Christian hymns. We loved reading about your top picks and seeing your comments about more recent renditions of your favorites! It’s amazing how many popular hymns have been covered by well-known artists—especially megahits like “Amazing Grace.” We set out to find five of our favorite renditions to share with you girls, and we can’t wait to hear what you think and see your suggestions for more great finds!

“How Great Thou Art” – Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill

    “Amazing Grace” – LeAnn Rimes

“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” – Mumford & Sons

“Will the Circle Be Unbroken” – Old Crow Medicine Show

“And Can It Be” – Phatfish and Lou Fellingham

Which of these covers is your favorite? Do you have a great rendition to share? Tell us about it in the comments below so we can all enjoy!

    1. Mumford and Sons’ version of Come Thou Fount brings tears to my eyes. Favorite song and favorite voice! I do like all of these songs 🙂 Hymns are so beautiful, and I wish this style was used more often.

    2. I saw “How Great Thou Art” on the day it aired on ABC, and I bawled like a baby when I heard it. It’s one of my favorite hymns, it was sung at my grandpa’s funeral, and it has so much meaning emotionally for me. Thanks for sharing it!

    3. I think that some hymns are just better the way they were made. Come Thou Fount is my FAVORITE hymn of all time, and I just love the peacefulness of it… but when they played it (no offense to them), I couldn’t make it through it because it lost that serenity. Maybe I’m just biased though, because I always like the originals better 🙂
