5 Back-to-School Fashion Trends for Fall!

Every week I go through the “Girl Talk” section of Project Inspired and look for those seeking advice and council. I want to help answer some questions you may have about living out your Christian life and walk of faith! We want PI to be a safe place where you can ask questions, and ask for advice on many topics as well. If you would like to ask questions about your walk with God or get some advice, join the conversation here!

This week I wanted to cover some fun fashion tips for back-to-school! If you’re got school on your mind, you also may be interested in joining the conversation some PI ladies have been having on homeschooling and public school here!

Many of you may be about to head back to school, and some of you already have started classes again! To help you get excited for the new school year, I’m sharing some upcoming trends for fall looks. Here’s what you can expect for the fashion trends of the season.

    1. Bright Blazers and Colorful Sweaters: Spruce up any look with a fun splash of color. Pink, coral and mint green are popular colors right now for that time between summer and fall. Oranges and navy blues are in for fall as well!

    2. Knee-High Socks: This is great for those of you who are required to wear a uniform…add these socks, and you’re in style this season!

    3. Clear Bookbag or Purse: Jelly bags are in style and are a fun fall accessory!

    4. Ankle Boots: There’s nothing I love more in fashion than fall boots. I love brown suede, and these boots can be paired with skinny jeans or a long skirt!

    5. Hippie Style: Flowy blouses, round Lennon glasses, turquoise jewelry and embossed bags are totally on-trend this fall!

What is YOUR favorite fashion trend? What looks will you be rocking this fall? Comment below!

    1. Just FYI knee high socks are sleazy to the max. They draw the eye up to the thigh. Even guys know that, it was a guy actually that told my mom not to wear them and he made her take them off, and he wasnt even a Christian.

Love the Jelly purse best! 🙂

      • It really depends on how you wear them. The ones they show aren’t even really knee-high socks, they’re more like thigh-high socks, and those ARE sleazy to the max. I LOVE knee-high socks, however. I am a sucker for striped ones, and I recently got some with tree frogs on them. I like to wear them with, say, a calf-length skirt, or a pair of capris.

        • oh yeah, I know knee high socks are fine, but she said knee high and posted a pic of thigh high socks. 😛 I assumed they were now called knee highs cuz they have socks that go wayyyy up the leg so I was thinking those are the new thigh highs? Dunno, but all I know is that any socks up past the knee draws attention where it shouldnt be drawn. But Im suck a sucker for socks! I collect them! 😀

    2. Hi Nicole. How are you? Well i like the pink shirt near the bottom. But fashion for this fall? I would say leggins, boots, and dress, and skinny jeans wide sleeved blouses. Totally my thing. 🙂 Oh and i hope you don’t mind but i have a Fashion Thread of my won in the Forums in Random thoughts and questions and it’s called…

Modest is Hottest…No…Fashion Passion.” I hope you don’t mind and i would love for you to check it out. There are now about 28 pages of the fashion thread. 🙂

    3. In my opinion, pink, coral, and mint green are spring/summer colors, not necessarily summer/fall colors. I do agree with orange and navy blue being appropriate for fall, along with any colors seen on the changing leaves-red, orange, yellow and brown!
I personally don’t like the see-through jelly bags, simply b/c I wouldn’t want some people to be able to see exactly what I’m carrying around. I think it’s more of a privacy thing for me haha 😛
As for the boots…how can you not like them?! Lol I have lots of boots for fall and winter and can’t WAIT to wear them! 😀
I also feel like there should be an article devoted to denim in general…anyone else feel the same way? I think it’d be fun to discuss different styles and brands, especially with jeans’ popularity in fall, which is right around the corner!
