5 Red Nail Polishes For Valentine’s Day!

Last week, we covered what to wear this Valentine’s Day. This week, we wanted to continue our celebration of the holiday by sharing our five favorite and affordable red nail polishes. So even if you aren’t into fashion, you can get into the holiday spirit by picking up these bottles and slapping on a coat (or two!) of paint. Pink and cream are also great choices!

Worried about trying to paint your own nails, especially when using your non-dominant hand? If you don’t have your mom or a friend around to help, an easy trick is to go ahead and mess up if you need to–don’t worry about making it perfect. When you’re done with that hand, dab a Q-tip in some nail polish remover and use it to touch up where you painted on your skin. Voila! Perfect red nails for Valentine’s Day!

If you’re interested in a standard, straight-up red, this color is your go-to. It has a glossy finish in a cherry shade that no one will mistake for coral or pink. FingerPaints, Art Auction Red ($5, Sally’s Beauty).

Maybe true red is, well, a little too red for you. We get it! In that case, you may agree with Salma Hayek that red is best a little darker and with some brown tones mixed in. This is her favorite shade! Nuance, My Favorite 350 ($6, CVS Pharmacy).

If you’re more of a pink gal than an all-out red type, then you might enjoy this cherry/coral shade. It’s definitely still red, but has a pink undertone to it that should appeal to anyone who wants a lighter, more feisty shade. We know it’s the dead of winter, but it can be a tropical paradise in your heart! Love & Beauty, Cherry ($3, Forever 21).

We love the hugely popular and respected brand Orly because their nail lacquer is free of DBP, formaldehyde and toulene. This particular shade of red has one of our favorite touches in it–glitter! Perfect for the girl with lots of personality! ORLY, Star Spangled ($8, Ulta).

If you can’t decide, want to mix shades or want to mix multiple colors on your hands (say, paint your pinkies pink and the rest of your nails red), grab this inexpensive set and get crafty with all the options! Elf, Spring Collection Set ($5, Elf.com–also available at Target).

Which nail polish shade is your favorite?

Um…. Are you going to put up anything at all on the Pope resigning? I’d say that’s more relative to Christianity than nail polish brands.

I know, lol. I’m technically wearing nail polish right now, although it’s very faded and chipped, I’m just saying that the Pope of Rome resigning is a lot more relative to Christianity than nail polish.

Not everyone is Catholic though. And this site is for inspiring girls I. Everything. It doesn’t ALL have to relate

I’m not Catholic, but this is relevant with Christianity and the Pro Life movement. Pope Benedict was one of our greatest allies in the Pro Life movement, and he also put out a lot of good stuff on Christianity and spirituality and prayer in general.
