5 Times Lauren Daigle Glorified God in Front of Millions of Viewers On National Television

Singer Lauren Daigle has made it clear over the past year that she is not a Christian artist, but an artist for everyone.

In an interview with 104.3 FM earlier this year, the host asked Daigle if she still considers herself a Christian artist after her music broke into the world of secular music.

“I feel like those labels get put on you by other people,” Daigle said. “I was reading articles, I read them here in there, and one of them said Christian artist and the other ones said just artist. But I think part of me is just an artist because it encompasses everything. That’s kind of how I see myself.”

“I remember talking so much about, ‘Let’s just make sure that we make music that we believe in that’s pure, true sound and something that we love, and it’ll transcend wherever it’s supposed to go. But let’s make sure that it’s pure authentic to who we are,’” she added.

Over the last year, Daigle has performed on stages across the world but has also graced late-night shows, talk shows, and morning shows with her presence and God-glorifying music.

Below are five powerful performances that Daigle gave on major network shows.

    1. Late Night With Seth Meyers

Last week, Daigle performed “Still Rolling Stones” on “The Late Night Show” with Seth Meyers. The song comes from her Grammy-Award winning album “Look Up Child.”

“Six feet under/I thought it was over/An answer to prayer/The voice of a Savior/Rise up/ Rise,” she sang soulfully.

    2. Jimmy Kimmel Live

In February, the twenty-eight-year-old singer appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” performing two of her hits, “You Say” and “This Girl.”

“You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing / You say I am strong when I think I am weak / And you say I am held when I am falling short / And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours / And I believe,” Daigle sang.

This past week, Daigle made Billboard history when “You Say” placed No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart for the 62 straight weeks. The song beat out Hillsong United’s “Oceans,” for longest sitting at No. 1, which had previously sat at the top for 61 weeks.

    3. Good Morning America

Last December, Daigle led a powerful moment of worship on “Good Morning America” when she performed “You Say” in front of millions of viewers.

When Daigle’s album “Look Up Child” released last Fall, the album ranked at no. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, beating out well-known pop artists like Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.

“We wanted to keep it like a prayer,” Daigle said in an interview with Relevant Magazine about “Look Up Child.” “What would I be saying to God if I was just sitting in my room? We had to make sure the lyrical depth was potent, because to me, songwriting is giving people a prayer to sing, words in their mouth that were there, but they didn’t know how to access. You enter the song with one color in the kaleidoscope, but it’s not until the song is out of your mouth that you see the whole scope.”

    4. The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

Last November, Daigle made her late-night show debut on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon. The artist performed “Look Up Child,” the title track to her album.

“You’re not threatened by the war / You’re not shaken by the storm / I know You’re in control / Even in our suffering / Even when it can’t be seen / I know You’re in control / I hear You say / Look up child,” Daigle sang.

“That’s how we do it right there,” Fallon declared following Daigle’s performance.

    5. The Ellen Show

Last October, Daigle made her debut on “The Ellen Show,” performing her song “Still Rolling Stones.”

“Six feet under / I thought it was over / An answer to prayer / The voice of a Savior / All at once I came alive,” Daigle sang.

Ellen commended the performance, later tweeting it out to fans on Twitter, writing, “Lauren Daigle is about to blow you away.”
