5 Worship Bands to Check Out Now!

We LOVE music here at Project Inspired, which is why we talk about it a lot! The Christian music scene has been bursting at the seams with so many good albums lately. We thought we’d give you some fresh new tunes to listen to as you tackle those term papers and projects. Feast your ears on these!

Young Oceans – “Lead Me”

This semi-alternative worship band emerged from Trinity Grace Church in New York City. Their music is pure heaven and perfect for any indie playlist.

Waken – “We Will Run”

“Waken is an electronic/synthpop worship band based out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a ministry of Ocean’s Edge School of Worship. The heart of the project is to provide a fresh and exciting worship experience for this generation, through the writing and recording of original music.” (facebook.com/wakenmusic) If you like Ellie Goulding, you’ll LOVE Waken!

Page CXVI – “Peace Like a River”

Page CXVI reminds us of bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Sigur Rós, Radiohead and Pedro the Lion. Their mission is to bring to light old hymns and make them relevant again. We. Love. This.

The City Harmonic – “Manifesto”

This is the ultimate song to blast in your car, dorm room or wherever you may be! We highly recommend getting your worship leaders at church to incorporate it into a rotation. Great for fans of Coldplay and The Fray.

Matt Maher – “Lord, I Need You”

This song is just so incredible, so powerful. Listen and recite the words out loud. Give it to the Lord.

Thank you so much for reminding me that all worship music doesn’t sound the same! I can’t wait to fall in love with each of them 🙂

I have been obsessed with Francesca Battestelli’s “He knows my name” lately. Love the message and the lyrics and tune are so catchy!!

Try the worship band “All Sons and Daughters” they are BEYOND amazing. When I first heard of them, it was so hard for me not to buy all their music at once. Their lyrics AND music are so NOT cliche or typical of worship bands. Way powerful & anointed!!

Check out REND COLLECTIVE! They’re reeeeally good! You will not be dissapointed! Some of my favorite songs by them include: “My Lighthouse”, “More Than Conquerors”, “Build Your Kingdom Here”, etc. too many to name (:

Also check out CITIZENS. Some of favorites include: “Made Alive”, “In Tenderness”, and “I Am Living in a Land of Death”

& JESUS CULTURE, one of my favorites by them at the moment is “Your Name is Glorious”

I would also give a listen to KING’S KALEIDOSCOPE (“Come Thou Font”), THE DISPATCH (“By His Grace”), THE MODERN POST (“Before the Throne”), and KENOSIS (“All My Tears”)

I have tons of recommendations lol I love worship <3

Page CXVI does hymns. I would hardly say it reminded me of Death Cab.
If you want a slightly hipster Christian band, try Citizens. If you’re going to listen to Matt Maher, do more than that one song.
My number one rule for trying new artists is: listen to an entire album before you venture an opinion on them.
