We only receive one body in this lifetime, and it’s our job to care for it just like we would anything of high value. Skin is the biggest organ in our bodies and therefore one that requires a lot of attention. I hope these tips will help you to honor God by caring for the body he designed for you, and also make you feel better about how you present yourself in the world.
I have a Sunday night ritual where I put a face mask on, apply a Bioré nose strip, tweeze my eyebrows and apply self-tanner so I’m prepared for the week. Why not start your own routine? “Me” time is a great thing to start when you’re young, because when you feel good, you look better, and that knowledge helps you exude confidence. (When I have extra time, I also put in a moisturizing hair mask and let it sit for 15 minutes while covered with a plastic bag.) I like to spend some quality time getting prepared for my week.
When I was a teenager, I had acne. And it was not fun. Trust me when I say that I have seriously tried it all. It took several years of trial and error, and I probably tried hundreds of products. But thankfully, now I have clear skin, for the most part. Because of my experience, I want to save you time and money and offer you all the tips I know, so that you can get your skin looking as amazing as it can be! First up? Always wash everything off at night. No excuses = no consequences, just a fresh, clean face.
Nicole’s Easy Skin Care Tips
Tip #1: I love e.l.f. makeup wipes! They are really affordable (about $3) and absolutely can take off all your stubborn makeup, including pesky waterproof mascara. I’ve been using them for years, and they are my favorite!
Tip #2: Change your pillowcase often! Even if you wash your face well each night, oils and skin cells get trapped in the fabric over time and can end up causing breakouts and irritation later.
Tip #3: Try not to touch your face all the time, or get in the habit of not touching it unless necessary, as the oil from your fingers can really wreak havoc.
Tip #4: Clean your cell phone often, so when you talk on it, the oil doesn’t get on your face. Plus, who doesn’t like looking at a clean screen? You can just use a sanitizing wipe and, boom, you’re done!
Tip #5: Exfoliate twice a week. This helps cell turnover and unclogs pores. At the same time, it will give your skin a radiant look and will make the surface smoother.
Tip #6: When you cleanse your skin, make sure to clean behind your ears and along your hairline and jawbone, because you can get little breakouts there!
Start these rituals early and I guarantee you will be grateful in the long run!
