7 Attributes of a COOL Youth Leader

For some reason, there’s something about youth leaders…and how almost all of them possess these same seven attributes. I think it’s what they teach in school, perhaps?

    1. They are incredibly talented at the guitar, drums or some other musical instrument. Heck, they probably rock on all of them.

    2. They have really cool buzzwords they use, like “Your walk” (“How’s your walk, Emily?”).

    3. They come up with the weirdest yet coolest games.

    4. They ALWAYS have coffee with them, no matter if it’s 8 a.m. or 8 p.m.

    5. They know more about pop culture than you do and quiz you on it.

    6. It’s either a plaid shirt or T-shirt at Youth Group every week!

    7. They are very easy to talk to and share your true feelings with.

What did we miss, PI Girls? Add your own attributes below!

    Dave Herrmann
My name is Dave, you may see me writing funny articles on PI or managing the social media accounts. My life is putting Christ first and everything else second. Life is beautiful when we smile and choose a positive attitude. God is good!

    1. O.MY.GOODNESS!!!! You definitely have brownie points from me for having Loki in these every week! And these are all sooo true. But you forgot one. They are all HILARIOUS at all times. Even when they aren’t trying to be.

    2. Bahahahaha!!! XD
#4 is partially true. Instead of coffee, he’ll have pop. Like every Sunday for Sunday school, he’ll have a can ‘o pop in his hands at 9 in the morning! #6 also because he almost wears the same thing every week!

      • Haha, that’s hilarious! My youth pastor wrote a rap to help us remember how to evangelize.
        “Remember 3-3-6-6-9
        Comon its 3-3-6-6-9
The first verse as rehearsed is John 3:16 ‘na mean?
Tell em all about Gods love, tell em what it means
Part 2 me and you, Romans 3:23
Even good people got sin don’t make me say it again
Part 3 we receive Romans 6:23
The wages of our sin is death but Jesus sets us free
Part 4 one way John 14:6
Jesus is the truth and those words are His
Part 5 come alive Romans 10 verse 9
Because Jesus is Lord, its repentance time
So take a dive, get baptized
Join a church and get to work
Repent from sin grab a friend and pray this with them.”

Sorry that was kinda long but what you were saying reminded me of that lolol. 🙂

    3. My mom and her best friend our my youth groups leaders! Sometimes not fun being the leaders daughter. (One of my besties is my leader’s daughter) so there are some benefits lol but they really do a great job!

    4. my absolute FAVORITE youth pastor always has a bag of candy that he lets you steal from, throws candy at you, and tells THE FUNNIEST, most random stories ever, but can also be really serious and understanding.

    5. They can be talking about a passage from the Bible, and begin connecting it to nearly everything else in the Bible! When my favorite youth pastor would do this, he would call it “Going down the rabbit hole!”

    6. Yep. Pretty much. My youth pastor has 2-6. I’ve never actually seen him play an instrument or heard him talk about it so I don’t know about one. But another one is they like to watch their students get sick from the wack job games they do. And also they always greet with high fives. 🙂

    7. I love this article. I just have one problem with it. Number 4. JANE IS NOT DRINKING COFFEE!!! HE HATES COFFEE!!! HE ALWAYS DRINKS TEA! IT’S TEA IN HIS CUP. NOT COFFEE!!! Okay, I’m done. I seriously love that you put him on here though. ^_^
      I love what you’re doing. It’s amazing. 🙂
