A Creative Way to Remind Yourself You’re Beautiful!

A quick pick me up to feeling great!

We all have those bad days when we don’t feel confident about ourselves, that we’re not good enough, or when life just seems to suck.  Sometimes Satan tries to put thoughts in your head and tells you that you’re not pretty and other hurtful things that goes against God. You can use these daily notes to help you when you’re down- all you have to do is open the jar and they’re there for you. 🙂

This little tip will help lift your spirits so you can remember that you are special, and you are God’s perfect child.

Use a pretty jar, you can buy one or maybe decorate one with rhinestones, and keep it on your desk at home. Tear out little strips of paper, and on each one, write at least 15 characteristics you like about yourself. I know you might be thinking, “but I don’t have that many.” YES you do! You just need to step outside yourself for a minute. What does your best friend say about you? Your mom? Here are some ideas to get started: You are loving, you are musical, you are intelligent, you have a beautiful spirit, you are generous, you have an appreciation for others, you are passionate, you are driven, you are creative, you are athletic, you are talented, you are funny, you are a woman of God!

After you create at least 15 of these inner characteristics, you can add things you like about your outward appearance, such as you have beautiful hair, you have nice skin, you have a sparkling smile, whatever you like. But the goal is to appreciate your spirit, and not your appearance. Know what I mean?

Also, you can add quotes you like about life, from funny to passionate quotes about reaching for your goals. Also, I included about 10 scriptures that remind me I’m special in the eyes of God. Here are a few to help you out if you need:

The Lord doesn’t see things the way people see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

I am your creator. You were in my care before you were born. Isiah 44:2

He is a God who is passionate about a relationship with you. Exodus 34:14

For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, God has chosen you to be his own special treasure. Deuteronomy 7:6

If you spend time wishing you were different, you’ll never get around to doing those special things God wants you to do.

You are so special. 🙂

Great ideas! Another thing that you can do is listen to music that has positive messages about self-esteem and beauty is Jonny Diaz’s “More Beautiful You”. Great Christian song! There are also two other songs that are secular, but still have great messages about true beauty, outer and inner: Selena Gomez “Who Says”, and One Direction “What Makes You Beautiful”. I am not into secular music that much, but these songs are AMAZING!!!!

Thank you Nicole <3 This is so inspiring. I have been feeling so down on myself today, simply because this one guy doesn't like me as much as I thought he did. I was literally about to search on google "How to not have low self-esteem" when I stumbled upon this article. It re-taught me a lesson that God has kept revealing to me time and time again: My identity is in Christ. I will certainly keep that jar of notes from now on!

i have done this and it really helps me. :)) it’s like getting quote messages and love getting messages. especially from god :))i put a lot of positive things in my purple bucket. i made sure i didn’t for get to put in my bucket that “god loves you” 🙂 and i put smiley faces and hearts on my slips. so i closed my eye’s and went through my bucket of slips not knowing what im going to pick. so i picked one slip and the first thing i picked up, eye opened my eyes , and the slpi said [ GOD LOVES YOU ] :)) and i picked it the second time.

Thank you! Thank you so much! You know what you are, Miss Nicole? You’re a prophetess, a woman God speaks through. I think you should get out to a church and speak to all the girls in need. You are blessed, a blessing, and I take more heart in God because of your messages. <3

This is such a sweet idea! I have a little journal that I keep all of my favorite quotes/ verses/ reflections in, but I like how the jar allows the characteristic/ “happiness booster” to be arbitrary! 🙂 Thank you!

This is so nice Nicole!! God blesses you with really amazing ideas to be a blessing. You really are another bright light in this dark world, and for that reason I Love you (God’s love)! As a 17 year old girl in the U.S. I see a lot of madness happening at school and even in my neighborhood, really bad things, and you are another blessing in my life that helps me stay in God and to not wander off His perfect straight and narrow path. Thank you very much, and please never grow weary.:)
