Alexa Chung is Modest in a Maxi Dress and We Match Last Week’s Modest Favorite!

Hey Ladies, when reflecting on the importance of dressing modestly, I think we as Christians -guys and girls- should remember that the way we dress is an outward reflection of who we are.  It’s part of the Christian package, in a sense. We present ourselves modestly in the way we dress, and then when we speak and act, we demonstrate modestly with our words and actions. So, remember, when you’re selecting modest clothing that that is just one aspect of Christian modesty. It’s an important one, but it’s just the beginning.

Now for this week’s selection.

Odeya Rush

White lace seems to be trending these days. Here’s a lovely modest example. The crop top adds a little dimension to the design and the black bow tie around the waist breaks up the overall white. Love!

Alexa Chung

I just love this vintage floral maxi with the ruffle at the top. It’s a style that can be worn at both dressy and casual occasions. So pretty!

Chloe Moretz

This sleeveless black and white dress is simple in design. But the busy floral pattern adds a fun touch! Lovely!

Now for our modest matchup!

Yael Grobglas

Yael Grobglas

Last week, Yael Grobglas’ white lace dress won our Modest Is Hottest poll, so I went in search of a similar dress that could help you get her look!

This outfit matches Grobglas’ almost perfectly. It shares the lace throughout, round neckline, peplum waist and pencil skirt. I love the cap sleeve of this dress. You can wear this at a wedding, graduation or any other summer event that’s formal. So, what do you think?

Which of our three modest looks is your favorite?

That’s so funny, the last outfit that won the “modest match up” is actually a peplum top with the skirt! Both pieces are by Rachel Roy, I have the top that’s how I know haha. 🙂 But it does look like a dress!

The first one is just so frumpy. Her body looks nonexistent. It’s just unflattering everywhere. Modesty doesn’t mean you hide the slightest bit of figure you may have!
Second one is pretty. Shoes should have been sandals though. Flats look a little awkward, especially black ones.
Third is meh. Pretty, but needs a pop of turquoise or something.
Matchup is spot on. Although I prefer a tank top design.

Ooooooh, maybe a thin turquoise belt? That would bring out her natural curves without looking like it’s too much, I think.

Oh my gosh, I agree with all of this. Honestly, I think Chloe’s (the third one) dress is pretty as is, but I could definitely see it needin a pop of color 🙂

I agree! It looks so unflattering it ruins the beauty in the dress. I’m not one to fuss, but I will say that has been my thoughts with a lot of the modest dresses shown here. Unflattering.

I don’t really like any of these but the third was pretty.
