An Inside Look at Christian Music Festival Fishfest!
Written by Christi Given | July 18, 2012
This year, I had the privilege of attending (and going backstage at) Fishfest, the annual Christian music festival hosted by The Fish 95.9 FM radio station in Los Angeles! I want to give you the insider scoop of what went down this year, including what’s new with artists like Trip Lee, Sanctus Real and more!
I will be sharing more details of Fishfest and some videos of the interviews I did, so stay tuned! Here is a photo of me with Leanor from the ska rock band “Five Iron Frenzy.”
Here is me and B Haley. He has a new clothing line called “B IT” encouraging young people to be different and shine your light for Jesus!
At Fishfest 2012, there were tons of booths with food, merchandise booths, Christian ministries and organizations. In addition, Christian colleges like Vanguard University were there. I stopped by the 31 Bits jewelry booth–31 Bits is an organization that helps women in Uganda.
Different musicians such as Mikeschair, Sanctus Real, Trip Lee, TobyMac, Phil Wickham and others led in worship at several stages in the Verizon Amphitheater.
For those Trip Lee fans, I got to meet and interview him. I love his song “Robot,” which is about not conforming to the patterns of the world and about being different, unique and set apart.
There is more to come from my reports of Fishfest 2012! PI readers, who is your favorite Christian music artist? Did any of your favorites perform at the festival?
