I asked God to send a guy into my life who would love me for me. Recently I‘ve started really liking this guy but I don’t think I’m good enough for him because I’m not very popular. However, he’s really nice and he’s a Christian, so I asked God to give me a dream if he’s the one that I’m supposed to spend the rest of my life with. I dreamed about him last night; however, we’re both moving next year so we’ll probably never see each other again. What does all of this mean?
It’s tough when you like someone and you’re not sure if he feels the same way about you. This may be especially hard when you’re in different social circles and you may even begin to doubt yourself and your worth. Well, let me begin with this reminder:
The Bible declares that YOU are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14.) YOU have been made in the image of God and are a part of the royal priesthood. God made YOU to be unique, like no other person on this earth. YOU are special and worthy of all good things. “Not good enough” should be eliminated from your vocabulary because you’re the daughter of the King. This means that YOU are extremely valuable and should esteem yourself highly.
God has the perfect guy in mind for you. Even as you read this article, God is preparing your future husband for you. He’s also preparing you to be the future wife that your husband needs. This guy that you like may or may not be who God has in store for you, but only God can reveal that answer to you.
God does speak to people through dreams, but it’s really important to remember that every dream isn’t from God. Sometimes dreams are thoughts from our own psyche and at other times the enemy tries to use our dreams to distract us. It’s really important that you’re able to discern when God is sending revelation through a dream and when your dream is something else.
The best way to do that is by asking God for confirmation. God will confirm what He tells you when you pray and when you read the Bible. He’ll also sometimes confirm through other Godly people.
The one thing about God is that if it’s in His plan for you, then it’ll happen. If you and this guy are meant to be, even your various locations won’t be able to keep you separated. God is a BIG God and mere geography won’t interfere with His plans for you.
Meanwhile, it’s probably a good idea to stay focused on other things. Ask God to reveal your purpose to you so that you can spend time strengthening your spiritual gifts and walking in your purpose. Develop more hobbies and work on understanding how WONDERFUL and deserving you are.
As you spend time loving and developing yourself, through the strength of Christ, you’ll attract the perfect guy into your life. Don’t allow yourself to be overly preoccupied with this (or any) guy because God will unite you with the right guy at the right time!
What do you girls think? Has God ever given you revelation through dreams? Have you ever been in a situation like this before?
I was just in a situation like this! I loved it when you said “God is a BIG God and mere geography won’t interfere with His plans for you”
Yes! I’m going through something similar, and that one sentence was exactly the thing that I needed to hear right now 🙂
I have, yes. I actually came to Christ through a dream. 🙂 While having lemonade he answered my question on becoming a believer.
This article just really made me feel better. This guy I liked for years has moved on, but I realize now that this is God’s way of telling me he isn’t the right one, that he has someone else in store in for me who is much, much better.
Beautiful article, thank you Aysha! 🙂
Love this article! <3
I have a crush on a very sweet, Christian boy that I’ve known for a while. I wish that I could tell him how I feel, but I’m afraid to ruin our friendship.
In 7th grade I did a silly thing and made a list of all the boys I could possibly “crush” on and asked God which one if any should I like. That night I dreamt of a boy and a couple months later we started dating. We dated for almost 5 years and I thought for sure we were meant to be. We obeyed God’s commands and kept Jesus in the center and I’d always pray for guidance if it was God’s will for us to be together. I had my doubts but I never got any real signs from God. Then unexpectedly we broke up because his feelings weren’t there anymore and he thought of me more like a friend than a girlfriend. I really want to get back together with him and I pray it really is just a “break” but I just am confused on what God is doing and what his will really is.
