My perspective on porn: To an extent, I think it’s actually normal. Think about it. It allows us to explore our sexual pleasures and our turn ons/turn offs, something that God created for us. Why would he want us to leave those unexplored?

I do get your point but the Bible also clearly states that sexual lust is wrong and that is what porn causes: it causes lust and distances us from Christ. There is nothing wrong in exploring your sexuality once you’re married and committed to one man for the rest of your life, but I don’t believe that exploring this side of you on yourself through porn is really a God-pleasing idea. I don’t want to sound harsh but these are my thoughts, and I have battled a porn addiction ever since I was a pre teen.

Thanks for the positive encouragement!! I battled porn at a young age. I believe right around the
time just before I became a teen. I was able to “beat” it with help from my Dad and being restricted in my internet access. I can’t say how liberating it was for it to be out in the open. Yes it is super embarrassing and even today I still struggle. I felt isolated in it. I know by statistics I am not but in church it is not talked about much. I recently had a sort of lapse. I have found something I try to do instead. It I nice to read the comments here and see others relating.

Thank you for your comment. It is very encouraging, not only to see that other struggle, but to also see that people have overcome it. I’ve been struggling on and off with this for a long time now. I’ll do pretty good for months or even a year or more, but then I’ll get curious about something or have a thought about something and get sucked back in. It was never so much sexual attraction as much as intellectual curiosity (never had the talk with my parents and I needed to figure it all out somehow), but I’m really feeling the desire and conviction to stop once and for all. The fact that you told your dad is really encouraging. I’ve been considering telling my mom for a while now, but I’ve never been able to work up the courage. Thank you for sharing your success story. It helps more than you know.

I use to have this problem, but I stopped and I never told anyone… should I tell someone, is there anyway to escape this guilt?

Thanks Katie, for that video. I have been struggling with that for a long time, it started before I even knew there was a word for it. I, do know I have to tell someone, it is a battle, one I can’t fight myself. Thanks again for the video.

I’ve needed deliverance at least three times from the pornography addiction, and lusting is still something to fight! I agree w/ everything said in the video and am SO glad that more girls are starting to open up about it! ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m planning on talking about it more myself. What better way to share Christ’s love then to share your own testimony? โ™กโ™ก
