Pro surfer Bethany Hamilton “lost her arm to a tiger shark at age 13, but this didn’t stop her from pursuing her dream of becoming a professional surfer. It wasn’t only the competition that fueled her desire to stay in the big blue, but her love for the ocean. Not only has she conquered the giant walls but also the journey of being a mother–all with only one arm. She inspires and she never stops; Bethany Hamilton is Unstoppable.”

The shark attack that caused her to lose her arm years ago was a very traumatic experience for her. However, Bethany trusted in Jesus Christ and through the experience of sharing her story, it became a #1 New York Times Bestselling Book – an incredible testimony!
Hamilton penned the famous book, “Soul Surfer,” and her tenacious faith impacted millions around the world. The book turned into a feature film, “Soul Surfer,” and included actress AnnaSophia Robb, actor Dennis Quaid, and more.
Hamilton decided that despite her loss, nothing could stop her. She decided to try surfing after the almost fatal shark attack. She quickly found herself back in competition and even beat a world champion! She has the spirit of the overcomer and has mighty faith. She is a role model for many young girls and people all over the world.

Bethany Hamilton has been seen on ABC, Oprah, has been nominated for an Emmy, has been on the Teen Choice Awards and remains humble and gives God all the glory. Hamilton’s faith and endurance to overcome obstacles has allowed her to minister to younger people who have lost limbs, reach out to soldiers injured in the war, and has given her a platform as an inspiring role model to help people who battle doubt and fear. She has proven that nothing will get in the way of her being in the ocean or any passion that God places on her heart.
Throughout the documentary, you see her journey of taking on training for surfing with one limb. After the birth of her first child she competes in a worldwide competition and wins and welcomes a second child to her family soon thereafter. Her life is a picture that if you put your mind to anything and trust God, all things are possible.
The cinematography was impeccable and the most amazing part about the movie is that it was supported by crowd funding.

Please support the movie and tell your youth groups, church and friends as it is encouraging and heart felt. I loved seeing God’s creation on the big screen and the beautiful islands that were featured throughout the documentary. It really gives you a perspective on life, gratitude, faith, perseverance, overcoming obstacles, believing through trials and also seeing how God’s faithfulness weaves throughout Bethany’s life.
