Bible Study: Know Your Worth as a Daughter of the King
Written by Christi Given | December 25, 2017
Sometimes when we are in a transitional period of life, we can doubt God or our identity in Christ. Sometimes in unknown seasons, the storms of life can create fear or unbelief. We at times forget that we are children of the Most High God and have the authority in Christ. We already have everything we need in eternal worth and value.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
We can be deceived and tricked into thinking, If I only had this, I would be happy or could praise God…. This is not true. In the book of Job, he worshipped God when he had fields and abundance and even when God allowed the enemy to touch his land, health and family. Job had a revelation that he brought nothing into the world and could take nothing out. Job blessed God in dry seasons and in the harvest of the double portions he received.
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. (Job 1:21-22)
And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. (Romans 8:17)
We must learn to trust God even when we cannot see, to stand firm in our identity, to be anchored in the Word of the Lord and to be unmoved by circumstances. Remember your royalty and remember to stay humble before the Lord always. Sometimes we forget that Jesus paid it all and that in all circumstances we have the victory. Jesus wears the victors’ crown and He sits at the right hand of the Father.
For in Christ Jesus you are all sons (daughters) of God, through faith. (Galatians 3:26)
As children of God and heirs to His Kingdom, we are a royal priesthood and we have everything in the Lord. The promises of Christ are yes and amen. Do you believe that, PI Girls? Do you know how special, valuable and cherished you are?
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. (Romans 8:17)
