When you think of a “role model,” what comes to your mind? When I think of a role model, I think about someone I admire or aspire to be like. Since this is the month of role models on PI, I thought I would share about people who have impacted and poured into my life!
Growing up, I always looked up to my mother in her love for the Lord. She always read the Bible with my brother, and she always prayed with us. Her faith and compassion have always stood out to me. Not everyone has a care-giving gift, but she definitely has the heart for care-taking, compassion and love.
In addition, my mother’s sister, one of my favorite aunts, is a huge leader in my life as well. My Aunt Cindy helped take care of me when my younger brother and I moved to California in middle school. My aunt and uncle were definitely role models to me and poured into my life. Aunt Cindy always taught me to be organized and encouraged me.

I am so grateful for the camps and youth groups we were plugged into growing up. I went to many church and youth events, which has blossomed me into the woman of faith that I have become. I admired my youth leader Grace, who was a young newlywed when she first began ministering to my youth group. I always admired her transparency, honesty and bold faith. Grace taught us the love and grace of God and was never a judgmental leader. She taught us about life lessons she learned from and how God did so many amazing things in her life.
One of the prominent role models in my life right now is Billy Graham, who is a famous evangelist and pastor. He is an amazing leader, father, teacher and pastor. God has used him to win many souls to Christ, and I admire his steadfastness and leadership abilities. His boldness and his unique authority in his preaching is captivating. I also appreciate his love for the Lord. (Pictured Below)

Musically, one person who I look up to is Beckah Shae. She has challenged me to write more relevant Christian music. Shae is an amazing woman of God, is talented, and is strongly passionate about her ministry. She also is married and has two children. Shae loves her kids and works alongside her husband in music, which is so inspiring!

Britt Nicole is a great Christian singer who has impacted my faith and has uplifted my spirit. I love her songs “Lost Get Found” and “Walk on the Water.” Lecrae is also a huge inspiration and role model in the music business as well. He goes beyond the normal standard of a gospel artist and really has stretched the industry to be different. I respect his profession of faith in his music and his outreach.
I love Taylor Swift and her positive role as a leader in the secular music industry. I pray she continues as a standout from the crowd in the pop music business. She keeps a classy reputation and I love her music! I appreciate her talent as a songwriter and guitarist. In fact, when I was learning guitar, I would look to Swift and her music as inspiration.
Another significant person who is my role model is Jesus! He is the ultimate role model and leader. I ask the Lord to guide me in all of my ways and I desire to reflect a godly woman. Of course, no one is perfect and everyone has their faults, but I try to read the word, pray and ask God to order my steps and show me the right path.
