Book Club: Have You Started Reading “Heaven Is for Real” Yet?!

Hi to all my sweet Book Club members (and if you aren’t part of the Book Club yet, you should check it out!),

I hope you are having  a Jesus-filled Christmas season and that you enjoyed our November Book Club selection, God Loves Ugly. I thought Christa Black’s story was really inspiring, and I loved how encouraging God Loves Ugly is and how it helps us examine the way we think of and see ourselves. We should see ourselves as God’s beautiful princesses, right Ladies?

Our December Book Club selection is called Heaven Is for Real by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent, and it’s a true story about Heaven. Todd’s little boy, Colton Burpo, who almost died during an emergency surgery when he was four years old and who got a glimpse of Heaven. Colton told his parents about meeting his great-grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born. He also described other people and things he saw that no one had ever told him about before.

I love, love, love books about Heaven; and I can’t wait to finish reading little Colton’s story. It is so exciting to think about the place where we will one day spend eternity, don’t you think, Girls? And Heaven Is for Real is a great story to read at Christmastime, as we remember Jesus coming down from Heaven to be born as a baby here on Earth. That’s the best story of all!

Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent can be ordered here or you can find it at local Christian bookstores, Barnes & Noble, and even at Target.

Happy reading, and Merry Christmas!

Love,

Nicole

I have heard this story and I really don’t think it’s actually true. It might be a cute story or whatever but it’s not a good idea to buy into every “I visited heaven/hell” story you read.

I honestly don’t think it was real because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, so I think it was just a dream, but not him actually going to heaven, though I could be wrong

Yeah. I’ve read the book, and at first I didn’t think it was real, either. But the book provides so much evidence to back it up, so I believe it is true now.
