Boys Look Up to Celebrities Just As Much As Girls! By PI Girl, Alexa

Boys need to be modest in a time like this. Boys look at celebrities just as much as girls! They see how many girls love Justin Bieber or One Direction and think, “I have to look like that to get attention from girls.” I’m not saying they always dress immodest, but there are some things that need to be considered.

For people in my school and maybe yours too, the skinny jeans and baggy tank top fad is in (for both boys and girls)! Some people will wonder, “What’s wrong with that?” Well, think about it. It shows off a boy’s figure just as much as a girl’s, and even sometimes shows their boxers. Those baggy tank tops show off a boy’s chest. Girls look at that, and they become attracted.

This doesn’t mean your appearance doesn’t matter, because it does. This just means that you shouldn’t be wearing anything that causes anyone to be lustful and sin! God even warns us to stay away from people like that!

Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God (1 Corinthians 10:32).

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them (Romans 16:17).

There have been times when I have slipped up and have seen a guy with revealing clothes and I would say, “Wow, he’s hot,” even though deep down in my head I knew I shouldn’t be attracted to him for his muscles.

Even when you are in a relationship, it is wrong to wear revealing clothes. That will cause your significant other to sin too! He/she will want to do things to you that he/she shouldn’t even be thinking about until after marriage!

God doesn’t look at your outward appearance; He looks at the heart and you should too! Would you want to be with a guy that has a good body and a horrible personality, or would you want a guy that covers up his chest and has an amazing personality?

But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart’ (1 Samual 16:7).

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve (Jeremiah 17:9-10).

So boys and girls, cover up! Because a pretty smile is so much better than a good body!
