Can’t Stop Lying? Find out Why Integrity Matters

Truth is so important to God. He is the “Way, the Truth, and the Life,” after all!

It’s not always easy to tell the truth, especially if it means getting into trouble, right? But God commands that we be honest.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor (Exodus 20:16).

Girls, there are so many reasons to get into the habit of being honest and not lie!

  1. It’s easy to lie, especially when you’d rather risk getting caught than telling the truth.
  2. The more you lie, the easier it gets, until you begin lying needlessly.
  3. When you lie, you have to continue lying in order to cover up the previous lies.
  4. Once those you lie to become aware of your dishonesty, they’ll eventually stop believing you, even when you’re telling the truth.

When you lie, you’ll usually get caught. And even if the person you lied to never finds out the truth, God already knows it. There’s no way you can deceive God!

We all should strive for integrity. When you’re known for your honesty, people hold you in higher regard. You’ll find that you have closer friendships and the people around you will recognize your honesty and aim to emulate it.

No one likes to be lied to, including you! Right?

All lying does is make things BAD,and sometimes, you won’t even get in trouble because they’re not mad! But,if they find out you lied, you just made things bad for yourself. Lying is so stupid.

When I was little I lied about a lot of things. Then my mom started not trusting me with anything and I had to work really hard to earn back her trust. I also hated the feeling when I lied, and everytime I lied I had to add onto the lie to keep myself out of trouble. I am 17 now and I don’t think I’ve lied on purpose about something for about four years unless it was about a good surprise for someone! I may have accidentally but then I would correct myself before things got out of hand. It was hard but I’ve learned that telling the truth early will get you out of a lot of guilt, trouble, and worry and it will make you a better person in general!

another thing is that even if they don’t know that you’re always lying to them people often get an instinct about it and do stop trusting you even if they never know for sure. I went through a really horrible phase where i was always lying all the time. I’m pretty good at acting so i never got caught but one day i had something really important to tell my friends that was true but they wouldn’t believe me. I asked them why and they said it was coz they didn’t trust me. when i asked why they wouldn’t trust me they said that they weren’t really sure. then they asked if i lied about other stuff too and got really mad, even though they never knew if i was lying about anything. I ended up telling the truth about all the lies i’d told them and they were so shocked. We ended up bffs again but for a while they were pretty upset. so basically the point of this is that even when people don’t know that you’re lying, they instinctively stop trusting you anyway.
