Carrie Underwood: New Song “Good Girl” and Her Good Girl Rescue!

Superstar Carrie Underwood has had over a dozen #1 hits, won the Academy of Country Music’s “Entertainer of the Year” award twice, and has five Grammys. The winner of “American Idol” in 2005, Underwood has released many inspiring and uplifting songs.

Underwood is set to release her fourth album, “Good Girl,” in May 2012. She announced that her newest single will be released on February 23. It’s called “Good Girl”–see the video she posted on her official site.

I am a huge Underwood fan and love her message and that she’s a positive influence! Not only does she have amazing vocals, but also she has a great heart!

Recently, Underwood was driving to visit her family in Tennessee and rescued two dogs from the side of the road.

I had Ace and Penny [Underwood’s own dogs] and a trunk full of luggage and presents in the SUV,’ she wrote on Dec. 30. When one of the injured dogs started wagging her tail, Underwood hoisted the ‘limping’ and ‘bloody’ pup into the car. The other dog, sadly, had died. ‘My guess is that the dogs were thrown out of their car by their owners on the highway’ (People.com).

Underwood took the lab that survived in her care and named it “Stella.” She had to give it to a new home, but was happy she could take the dog to the vet and give it a new family.

Let us praise artists like Underwood who strive to be better examples and role models. Continue to support her music and let’s see a change for the better in the Hollywood entertainment industry!

PI girls, have you ever rescued a pet before?

    1. my family has rescued 4 kittens when they were only 3 weeks old they were abandoned by their mother and so we took them home and 3 of them went to new homes and we kept 1 and she is a happy energetic cat that we love!

    2. Carrie Underwood is someone I can respect and admire for her charity work as well as her powerhouse voice. She is a strong christian and so far is doing well in Hollywood. I especially liked her performance in the movie, “Soul Surfer”. A few more movies, and I’m sure her acting will improve. Well done, Carrie!

    3. I love Carrie Underwood!! She is such and amazing talent, and she uses it an amazing way!!!1

One time, there was a bunny stuck in my basement, so we let it out in our neighbors year so your dog wouldn’t get it!

    4. My family loves animals, and so we have 3 cats; two of which we rescued from the humane society, and 1 who we got from a friend who couldn’t pay to keep her any more. My grandparents also have 3 cats; one who my grandpa took home after he found her on his last hole of golf, one who their friend found on their porch when they were out of town (she kept him for a little bit, but she couldn’t keep him, and my grandparents loved him), and one they rescued from a shelter. I consider them all my cats, and I love them all so much!

    5. When my friend’s dog had puppies, one of them was practically stillborn and wasn’t breathing. My mom took the puppy back to our house and basically stayed with her throughout the night nursing her back to health and now she’s a rambunctious and energetic dog. 🙂 She was given away eventually, but she’s happy and healthy and living life to the fullest!

    6. I love Carrie Underwood! My favorite thing about her is that unlike most singers, not all of her songs are about love. I love her performance on “Soul Surfer”, I think she was amazing! I love her song Play On, one time I heard a song very similar to that after my very first Cross Country practice when I was crying because I thought I couldn’t do it and wanted to quit. Now i’m glad I didn’t because it was tons of fun!

    7. I don’t know that Carrie is the greatest role model. Have you listened to the lyrics from “Last Name?” It glorifies drinking, partying, and going home with a guy that is apparently a stranger, “I don’t even know his last name.’ Also, you can clearly see her cleavage in the video you posted. Her music is dangerous because she portrays a wholesome image, but her music is laced with alcohol and pro sexuality messages.

    8. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
      Romans 12:2
We must remember this as christians.Secular music is of the world not of God. Therefore I believe it is not something God wants us to take part in or listen to.
      With love God Bless!
