Chick-fil-A Manager Serves Up a Chicken Sandwich with a Side of Compassion
Written by Project Inspired | January 13, 2015
Chicken sandwich for the soul, anyone?
As you know, it’s cold out there in most of America. Like—bring the dog in, wear 19 layers and abandon all hope (not really) kind of cold. But early this month, one man in Birmingham, Alabama committed a modest act of kindness that ought to warm your hearts for a good few minutes or so.
His name is Mark Meadows, and he manages a Chick-fil-A restaurant known for it’s altruism. On January 7th, a homeless man entered Mark’s restaurant, offering work in exchange for food. Mark offered the man a meal free of charge.
But this isn’t the end to the story, or Mark’s compassion.
Mark, who was on his break, noticed that the man did not have gloves to protect him from the frigid cold—so he gave them his, unaware that others were looking on. One woman, however, noticed. She went on to describe the moment in a Facebook posting that, for good reason, quickly wen’t viral. Check out the photo she snapped below:

When asked why he did what he did, Mark responded by saying by quoting this companywide principle, which is “to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.”
How amazing is that?
Anyways, the woman who captured this encounter notes in her Facebook post how just grateful she was that her little boy had an opportunity to witness this act of goodness. Now, we’re grateful that we can share it with you, too, and encourage you to pass the spirit of Mark’s generosity on in your own way today.
