Christian Movie Receives Oscar Nomination!

Ladies, I’m so excited to share this news with you: This year a Christian movie, Alone Yet Not Alone, has been nominated for Best Original Song!

The song “Alone Yet Not Alone” was written by Bruce Broughton with lyrics by Dennis Spiegel. It was sung by Joni Eareckson Tada, who’s actually an author, painter and founder of Joni and Friends, a ministry dedicated to supporting people with disabilities.

Listen to it below and share your thoughts!

Alone Yet Not Alone is based a novel of the same name. Set in the British Colonies in 1755, it tells the true story of two Christian sisters who are taken captive during a period of violence and have to struggle to hold onto their faith. The movie was originally released in 2013, but only in nine cities. However, it’s going to be re-released in theaters on the weekend of June 13.

Other nominees for Best Original Song are Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Despicable Me 2, Her and Frozen. This year the Academy Awards are on March 2.

Awesome! I heard Dr. James Dobson and his interview with the writer of the movie. So glad they are re releasing it because I really want to see it! Joni is also so inspiring. I love to listen to her on the radio. Her story is so moving and her ministry is great!

Honestly I believe that while it’s a great song, that “Let It Go” from Frozen deserves to win the award. That song was amazing and beautiful and so well done
