Christian rapper Trip Lee recently released his latest album with Reach Records, “The Good Life.” It has since reached #17 on the charts! Lee has worked with artists like Lecrae, Suzy Rock, V Rose, Sho Baraka, Jimmy Needham, Andy Mineo and more.
Check out his new song about persecution called “I’m Good” featuring Lecrae:
One of my favorite songs on the album is “Take Me There” featuring Jimmy Needham. It is upbeat and has a melodic, prayerful sound to it. Lee sounds a bit like TI in the song.
“The Good Life” is very diverse and Lee collaborates with many different types of artists on it. I also enjoy his collaboration with Suzy Rock, called “Fantasy.” The lyrics are very powerful. The song is about the smoke and mirrors in the media and how it is a fantasy.
Lee talks about his album and the purpose and meaning behind it.
We don’t have to be robots…we can choose life. I want to challenge the lies we’ve been told, and present a new and more glorious picture (Jesusfreakhideout.com).
Lee is changing the world one song at a time and is impacting many souls with his music. He was nominated for a Dove Award for his first album, “If They Only Knew.” His second album was called “20/20.”
Trip’s sophomore album, 20/20, was released in 2008 and garnered much success: breaking into the Billboard Top 200, reaching #11 on the Billboard Christian albums chart and landing at #4 on the Gospel chart. With his third studio album, Between Two Worlds, Trip offered a collection of reflections on life in a fallen world. Those reflections resonated with listeners as B2W debuted at #1 on the Christian and Gospel Billboard charts, #5 on the Hip Hop/Rap iTunes chart and #9 on the Top Albums iTunes chart. The album also received two Dove nominations and a Stellar Award for Best Gospel Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year (Jesusfreakhideout.com).
Let us pray for the musicians in Hollywood and behind the scenes that God is elevating in the secular and Christian industries. The leaders of tomorrow need your prayers. Thankfully there are artists like Lee making a difference and standing up for godliness and righteousness. Does his music encourage you?
I love seeing young people shine for the Lord! It is so powerful! Especially when they are not ashamed of the gospel! God is so amazing and he is removing some of the negative leaders with better, more positive role models! Our radios need to change and have people like Lecrae, Trip Lee and Jai on them! Support these artists and pray for them!
