There’s no doubt about it, girls—agate is gorgeous. The colorful stone comes in tons of different colors, shapes and patterns, and can be made into just about any piece of jewelry. The only downside? The often-handcrafted works are usually a bit pricey. And while we aren’t saying it isn’t worth the splurge, we do know that you often have to maintain a budget when it comes to fun things like jewelry.
Luckily, there are a few awesome (and super easy!) DIYs out there for working with agate, and we’ve found the perfect one to help you craft a simple and elegant agate necklace that you’ll be thrilled to sport all summer long and well into next year. Be sure to invest in a color that works well for YOUR wardrobe, and consider making a few extras for friend and family gifts once you perfect the craft!
Supplies:
- Gold chain
- Jewelry pliers
- Agate slice pendant (you can search “agate slice pendant” on Etsy for lots of options)
- Gold jump ring
Instructions:
- Measure a 34-inch piece of gold chain and cut with jewelry pliers. Feed the chain through the pendant loop at the top of the stone.
- Open the jump ring with your pliers, attach it to the two ends of the chain and close again with pliers.
- Slip it over your neck and you’re done!
