TODAY’S HOT TOPIC: Do You Hold Yourself Back for Fear of Failing?

This is such a great story with so many inspirational lessons. Last weekend at a wrestling tournament, middle schooler Justin Kievit demonstrated an amazing act of sportsmanship and compassion toward his opponent, Jared Stevens.

Stevens loves wrestling and nothing’s going to stop him from competing, including his cerebral palsy. Watch what happens!

Both Kievit and Stevens demonstrate fantastic character. Kievit recognizes that winning was more important to his opponent than it was to him. Also, lots of people have a hard time interacting with people with disabilities, but Kievit doesn’t think twice about it. His beautiful act of compassion is so amazing to watch. I just love it!

Stevens also teaches us that we should never allow any disability to stop us from doing the things we love. He possesses a strength and courage that we all should aspire to. God created every one of us in a deliberate way and for a specific purpose. And I’m certain that He brought Stevens into this world to show us all that disabilities shouldn’t stop us from taking part in life. Do you agree?

Ladies, do you ever hold yourself back because you’re afraid that you’re good enough or able?

I definitely agree. What a beautiful example of compassion and courage! Everyone has purpose in life and a passion for something (sports, dancing, drawing, etc.), and I think we should motivate people to do what they love and live life to the fullest (specially for someone with a disability). May God bless them both!! 🙂
