Christian Life

Do You Think Christianity’s Boring? Here’s Why You’re Wrong!

Show of hands: Who has ever thought that being a Christian is a little boring? Did you raise your hand? Sometimes being a Christian can feel a little boring–I mean, God expects us to live in a righteous manner, so how much excitement can our lives really have?

The answer is, a lot of excitement!

Truth is, it isn’t God’s responsibility to make our lives exciting. He has given us redemption through His Son, power through His Holy Spirit and plenty of opportunities to show His love to a hurt and confused world. If our lives are boring, then that’s our fault, not His.

So where’s all this excitement, then?

  • Miracles! – In the Bible, Jesus healed people, raised the dead to life and cast out demons. Jesus also said “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it” –John 14:12-14. Let’s get out there and start asking God for some miracles!
  • Serve! – Have you ever seen the look on a homeless, hurting or struggling person’s face when someone blesses them, either with a little money for food or even with a listening ear? When someone realizes God has not given up on them, it’s enough to leave you speechless. God has given us love to pour out upon the hurting and broken, so start pouring out the love!
  • Pray! If you want to see change happen in your life and the lives of others, then you need to spend time in prayer. Not just once in a while, but every day. There’s a story in Luke 18:1-8 that talks about a widow who pesters a judge about legal protection that she needed. She pesters him every day until he finally gives her what she wants just so she’ll stop bothering him. God says how much more will He do what we ask because He loves us!

There are so many other ways we can make our Christian lives exciting–serving at homeless shelters, performing with God-given talents and even ministering to people at our schools. The important thing to remember is that every way of making Christianity exciting has to do with doing what God wants us to do and the things that touch God’s heart.

How can you make your Christian life more exciting?

These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues…they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Mark 16:17-18).

I don’t think Christianity is boring. I do think it’s hard to live up to God’s standards somtimes and I don’t know how some people do it so effortlessly. I like what Champ2343 said about worship. When I talk to God and thank Him for what He’s done, I feel so at ease. Jesus came so we might have an abundant life so I’m sure it puts a smile on His face when we’re enjoying life in a way that pleases Him. I make my Christian life more exciting by being myself. People can tell I’m a Christian even if they don’t like the fact that I am. I love to make people laugh and share God’s love with my non-Christian friends.

You can also do sports ministries and play fun games. You can do many fun things while still glorifying God. And I also think stepping out of your comfort zone by ministering and serving is a good way to spice up your life! And draw you closer to God. I’m going on a missions trip and I can already tell God is going to open my eyes a lot! Please also pray for our team!

I make my Christian life more exciting by worshiping and going to my youth church every Sunday. It’s a lot of fun! Try worshiping in the morning, evening, or afternoon. That ought to make your Chrisian life more exciting! 🙂

How I make my christian life more interesting? For as long as I can remember, I have been giving clothes I’ve outgrown to salvation army and families who have children younger than me. Also, for the past 5 years, My family and I have been doing mission work, we have moved twice in my lifetime to do mission work and will move again once we finish where we are currently.

I am not saying this to brag, but to encourage you other girls. Someone as young as me, (age 14, starting much sooner) can make a big difference in such a little way.

A miracle happens every day! Its a miracle that we’re here on earth, its a miracle that you are breathing, its a miracle that our eyes can see things, because no human can create anything like it! More to the point though, you can ask God for anything. Asking God to heal a cancer patient that the doctors have given no hope is asking for a miracle. Me asking for an A on my geometry final tomorrow is asking for a miracle! (no joke, asking for it tomorrow haha!)Asking for God to alter anything imaginable is asking for a miracle. Also, if He says no, it doesn’t mean He can’t do it, or He just doesnt do miracles anymore, theres ALWAYS a reason 🙂 hope I explained this well!
