Dove’s ‘Real Beauty’ Campaign

One of my favorite videos from Dove’s award winning Real Beauty campaign:

Makes you think, doesn’t it? We’ve all had days like this when we just want to hide in the house – not just because we’re having a bad hair day or anything to do with our looks but just for not feeling…good enough.

The truth is, those around us see our true beauty even when we ourselves temporarily may not see it because we feel bad about something.

So, here’s to setting free our inner ‘Amy’s’ and living out loud! It takes courage to overcome insecurities – just try your best and you’ll be happy you did!

You’re beautiful!

Wow, i really liked this video 🙂 I remember for a while when i was smaller i didnt feel so good about my self but, God showed me that even on my frizziest hair days, when my hair may not be as straight or when my complexcion may not look its best i know am beautiful in his eyes and when the time comes he’ll bring the guy around who not only has a heart for God but, who thinks the same as well 🙂

This made me cry, because it’s so… true. I’m ‘Amy’ almost everyday, and right now, I feel horrible, (My skin is having a bad week) , but this boy continues to tell me I’m beautiful.

I love your heart for girls to know their true beauty! I know that God is doing a lot through your ministry:) Thank you for doing something about what burdens you! God bless.

I am 18 years old and I still don’t wear any makeup. And I get compliments on how I look all of the time. I feel that people should be natural because it is so beautiful. Also when I do wear makeup(only on special occasions like prom) people think I am gorgeous. So media should concentrate more on inside beauty than outside beauty.

I know just how “Amy” feels. I’m always really nervous about how I look around a guy I like. It makes me feel better when there is something to talk about because it relaxes me.

this is a really touching video!! I feel bad for the kid who liked this girl but she wasn’t confident enough to talk to him.

Yes, this is an Amy day for me too- it could have been a beautiful day- I had so many great and fun things going on- but I was so preoccupied with thinking about my size to enjoy being with my friends.
    Thank you.

You know, I don’t feel this is true. Because i am not ugly, I know that, but for some reason alot of the guys in my class think im ugly and this girl thats not prettier than me is ‘hott’ because she came to our private school from public school and I didn’t.

Wow, this really made me reflect on what I’ve been obsessing about lately (Big pimple on my chin). I hope lot’s of girls watch this and let go of all the insecurities we carry around with us!

This is so awesome I practically started to cry! I feel this way sometimes especially before school. I just started wearing makeup (really late I am 16) and when I first started people were teasing me calling me clown face and even though my mom finally helped me figure out how to look more natural it has totally freaked me out.

Hi Kylie- I know exactly how you feel. I felt that way too- I had no idea what I was doing, and I was teased too. Just know that you’ll get your own special ‘look’ down, and God thinks you are so beautiful just the way He made you. I know it’s not easy, but just think of this if other people tease you- and know that they are insecure about their own appearance and that’s why they feel the need to make fun of you.
