Emma Roberts Goes Grecian and We Match Last Week’s Modest Favorite!

Hey ladies, have you noticed a Grecian twist in today’s fashion? It seems as if the toga has graduated from the costume party and made it onto the red carpet…in both formal and casual designs! So I thought it would be fun to feature modest, Grecian-inspired dresses in today’s Modest Is Hottest. Let me know which is your favorite.

And don’t forget to check out this week’s modest matchup!

Hayden Panettiere

I love this formal black gown. While it’s loose on the body, it still has a sleek feel that’s feminine and modest. Love it!

Emma Roberts

Here’s a sparkly Grecian design. It’s very simple, but the shimmery color and flowing design are so pretty.

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes

This is a casual, everyday look that’s reminiscent of dresses worn in ancient Greece. But this one has a bit of an elastic waist to add some shape to the figure. Cute!

Now for our modest matchup!

AnnaSophia Robb

Last week, AnnaSophia Robb’s casual sequins won our Modest Is Hottest poll, so I went in search of a similar outfit that could help you get her look!

How about this for a cute gold jacket? This inexpensive version can be paired with your favorite skinny jeans and camisole, and you have Robb’s sparkly casual look! What do you think?

Which of our three modest looks is your favorite?

I LOVE learning about ancient Greece so naturally I love that you put up these dresses.

1st one: I really like it, but I would cinch it at the waist. Otherwise it seems shapeless. I think cinching it at the waist would make it look like a Grecian gown, because they had a fitted waist.

2nd one: This one is my favorite. I love the shiny fabric. Although, I would make it an empire waist

3rd one: I love the idea of this dress, but I think it looks a little sloppy. It’s like a bedsheet. The Fabric, the cut of the hemline, and even the elastic waistband, like the things you put over the mattress, Lol

If you make the fabric thicker, but use the same materiel, it will get rid of the wrinkles, and the hemline would look fine. Besides what I said before, I really lilke the elastic to give it some shape. I also love the fact that it’s a casual dress, so can dress it down by wearing it as is with casual shoes, or dress it up by adding gold sandals and a gold belt (and it makes it look even more like a toga!)

Thanks you so much for posting these 😀

These aren’t my favorites… The first one is alright… It’s just kind of unflattering. It’s also a little plain for my tastes. The second.. doesn’t have any shape to it. It wouldn’t flatter me at all, and I’d be swimming in it. I love the shimmer, but the dress needs to be re-worked at little bit, maybe with some ruching around the top (making it look less like she’s sagging) The third, I might wear. I like that it has some shape, and it looks cute, in my opinion.

I love the match up jacket, but Katie Holme’s looks like a garbage bag. No offense haha. The first two are both fairly cute, and I appreciate the theme:)

I am not a biggest fan of Grecian dresses, but I was wondering if you could add a link to the modest match up so we can look at it online.

I guess I liked the silver one best.

I like all the dresses, but I’d kill in the first and the second one,but the third one would need to be fitted if I were to wear it. The first and second dresses look better loose because of the fabric, and the third dress would look better fitted because it would smooth out the fabric and get rid of the wrinkles. It kind of looks like a suit or trash bag with this shape.

I didn’t like any of the outfits from this week…

I like Grecian type dresses. The draping, flowy feel is lovely. But they must give some sort of shape to the body in order to be executed correctly.
BUT THESE. The first one fits okay, but these women look like they’ve been draped in shiny trash bags. They all have wonderful figures that are covered up by pretty curtains. :/ the dresses ARE beautiful, I just don’t think they’re flattering on these women.
    But that’s just me 🙂

    1) This one is pretty and looks good on her. I like it.
    2) The sparkly-shimmery bit is nice, but the top part looks like It’s dripping off of her.
    3) That looks like a fitted sheet.

I hate the second and third! They look sloppy and do not fit the wearers at all! The first one is BEAUTIFUL! It is loose without looking too big! It looks very chic and comfortable!
