Enhance Your Natural Beauty with…LEMONS!

They taste great in sorbets, drinks and squeezed on fish, but ladies, did you know that lemons also make for an inexpensive and effective beauty product?

It’s true! Lemons are great for the following beauty treatments:

  • Drinking water with a squeeze or two of fresh lemon juice is great for detoxing the body and creating a healthy, hydrated look.
  • They’re great for your complexion. Consider using them to remove blackheads by rubbing half a lemon over troubled areas like an exfoliator. Or create a natural toner by dipping a cotton ball into some juice and applying it at night. Diluted lemon juice is also great for clearing up acne.
  • Add shine to your hair by mixing a few drops of lemon to water and applying it. Remember to rinse with clean water to avoid lightening your hair. If you want to create some highlights, mix one part lemon and three parts water and rinse into your hair. The sunshine will do the rest!
  • Soften and lighten knees and elbows by rubbing half a lemon directly to them and follow five minutes later by gently exfoliating with a pumice stone. You can also lighten under your arms in the same way. Don’t forget to rinse when you’re done.
  • Whiten yellowing nails by rubbing them with fresh lemons.

If your skin is sensitive to the acidity of lemons, you can dilute with water. Additionally, because of the lemon’s bleaching qualities, you should always isolate treatment to troubled areas.

God has blessed us with amazing products of nature, so let’s take advantage of them!

Ladies, did you know that lemons are such a great beauty product? Do you know of any other ways lemons help enhance your natural beauty?

Will using it to lighten my hair hurt it?

I used it and no it never made my hair dry but if your hair is prone to dryness then you may want to use a hot oil treatment on it afterwards (google it).

Yes. I use lemons and honey on my face. My acne cleared up better than when I used proactive.

Just a warning if you are using it for acne – It hurts like nuts if your face has any scabs or you pick at your acne! I found out the hard way… BUT, it is well worth it, just do it while watching TV or grimace and bear through it, it doesn’t hurt too long.

Will the lemon juice in the hair thing damage your hair at all? I mean, it has bleaching qualities but will a little be that harmful? I’m thinking that it might be a good thing to use to lighten my hair a little bit more before I put semi-permament hair dye in it. I don’t do the bleach stuff cuz I don’t want to damage my hair, but the lighter the hair the longer the dye stays in. Just a thought.

I’ve been doing this method for my acne for a few weeks and it works AWESOMELY! Its amazing because my acne treatments that I have to pay for don’t even work as well as lemons!

Cool. I used to rub lemons on my face to get rid of my freckles when I was a kid, but I stopped cuz it was bleaching my skin and Im already pale! lol I love my freckles now though, so yeah. Those ideas are great! Thanks for sharing!
