Our country is undergoing a strong pro-life movement that is changing laws and increasing awareness about how the sanctity of an unborn baby is to be protected. Many states have now enacted the “heartbeat” bill, making abortion not an option after a baby’s heartbeat is detected. While this controversy isn’t new, it is worth taking the time to talk about and understand because so many lives are involved and unborn babies are at stake. Here are a few of my thoughts on why the sanctity of life should be protected.
Why I’m Pro-Life.
This is my son Elijah when he was 2 months old. I am strongly pro-life, and I believe that every life is valuable. It makes me sad to see so many prominent Hollywood people disregarding a baby’s life and encouraging abortion. The Bible says we are loved and have value when we were created in our mother’s womb. He called us before we were born.
A quick history lesson.
Roe Vs. Wade was the legal battle about abortion in the 1970s. The woman who was advocating abortion was sort of forced into it with a false testimony. Her real name was Norma McCorvey. Thankfully, she ended up giving birth to her child. After many years, she became strongly pro-life and anti-abortion. She even said “My involvement in Roe was the biggest mistake of my life.”
Standing up for Justice.
As Christians, let us be a voice for the voiceless and stand up for justice for these unborn children and give them the right to life. I am so encouraged to see @marchforlife and the movie @unplannedmovie taking off. Our country needs morals and values again. Every life is precious. And thankfully because of sonograms, we can see just how valuable and precious these lives are. Even in the 80s and 90s detailed sonograms didn’t exist.
Comment and let me know if you’re pro- life too!
