Faith Saver: Blind Skateboarder Defeats the Odds

Girls, God blesses each and every one of us with a gift or talent. We don’t always know what that talent is, and sometimes when we do, we just don’t feel we have the courage to pursue it. The following clip is an amazing faith saver because it reminds us that even when the odds are against us, we still can be successful.

I’ve seen competitive runners with prosthetic legs, basketball players in wheelchairs, swimmers missing limbs, blind and deaf composers, and now a blind skateboarder. Ladies, I pray these examples inspire you to pursue your talents, even when the odds may be against you.

Sweet PI girls, are you defeating the odds and pursuing your talents? Share your story, I love hearing from you.

One of my dreams is to write and publish a science fiction novel. I have been writing stories ever since I was 4 or 5, and ever since I can remember I have longed to become a published author one day. The manuscript for the first novel in a series I have planned is still in progress, and I sometimes feel as if I will never be able to get it all done…but several years ago I decided to lift my talent for writing up to God and trust in Him. Jesus knows what is best for me, and even if I never get to finish the novels I have planned, I am confident that everything will work out for the best if I place my trust in the Lord. Whatever the best may be, I know that God’s plan is far mightier than any plan I could conceive. I think that God is calling me to write novels that will reach the teenage populace and encourage them to really ponder eternity — and if it is His will that I write a novel, then He will make it come to pass.

This is so cool! No doubt he spent hours just walking across that track and making a map of it in his mind before going for it 🙂

Wow, he’s so good! That’s really impressive. He inspires me to share one of my dreams, which I’ll admit I’m embarrassed to say. In reality, there’s probably no way I could ever become a professional ballerina, but this hope I have inside me is so illuminating. My body weight is unhealthy, I only have about half the experience and I’m too old to start learning pointe…. Though I had like a million chances and I ruin them all. Now I’m trying to catch up on my ballet skills, get into proper shape and all with no support from anyone. Though I don’t blame them… =/

Emi you are NOT too old to become a pro ballerina or to go en pointe! I’ve heard of people who start taking ballet at 18 and go on to become pros! We need to keep in touch because it’s my dream to become one too 😀

I struggled before trying to decide whether to pursue a more acceptable and generic career versus my dream to go art school and study design, but God showed me that my artistic path was the right way to go. I gave up art for some time because of my struggle, so I’m very worried my portfolio won’t stack up as much as others for the dream school I applied to, but I know that I can put my hope in God. I wouldn’t have even applied had he not told me it was the right thing to do! It takes courage to take down the walls, courage only God can provide.

OMG @jenntom413, that’s my dream too! I really want to look into a good art school in California even though I don’t live there. My parents aren’t very supportive of me, and no one really believes that I can someday become a designer…I’m so glad that you have the same dream too! FINALLY, someone who understands!
