Faith Saver: Couple Inspires Prayer and Purity When Wedding Picture Goes Viral!

Ladies, how beautiful is the above picture? A private moment is captured as a couple takes time to pray together before committing themselves to each other in marriage. When I first saw the image, it touched my heart.

The image has gone viral, inspiring many other couples. And as a result, the bride decided to share the story behind the photo. I found it inspiring and wanted to share some excerpts with you, PI girls. I pray it inspires and strengthens those of you who endeavor to remain pure until marriage!

    The Story Behind the Photo

…“Hi sweetie! We’re getting married today!”

“I know baby, and I want to pray with you before we do.”…

…There we sat around the corner, hand in hand, and together we bowed our heads. People were rushing about; the wedding coordinator directing people here and there, the photographers snapping photos and the bridal party enjoying each others’ company. Yet in that moment, in the quietness of our hearts and minds, my husband and I were alone in the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ…

…he is not only my Prince Charming because of his incredibly handsome looks, or wonderful humor, or the fact that we have so much in common. He is my Prince Charming because he helped me protect the most precious gift that I owned, my purity…

…Throughout our dating relationship and engagement we constantly fought, what at times felt like a losing battle. We fought temptation with prayer, scripture and accountability. I had friends checking up on me if they knew we were together late at night and he regularly met with other Godly men to pray for strength. At times, especially as the wedding grew closer, we thought we were attempting to do the impossible…

…God has used this photo to inspire hundreds of thousands of people already and for that we are humbled and honored! I wanted to take it a step further and give God praise and thanks for how we arrived at that quiet corner, holding hands and ready to begin our lives together.

Read the whole story here. But don’t forget to come back and tell us what you think in the comments below!

Purity is not an easy status to maintain, especially in such a sexualized era. But it is possible if you are with the right person and you surround yourself with supportive friends! So find strength in yourself, your future husband and God, because with Christ, all things are possible.

Ladies, did this story inspire you? Are you afraid that staying pure will be difficult? Why?

    1. I had seen this pic before but never read the full story. I want this to be me and my boyfriend someday. We both are catholic and we both want to wait even if there is temptation we stay strong together 🙂

    2. awwwwwwww! my heart skipped a beat for a second when i saw that photo before letting out a long… awwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! Me and my future hubby will have to do this on our wedding day! <3

    3. This is such a lovely story. All things are possible with Christ, no matter how difficult. I made a promise to God when I was fourteen that I would save myself for marriage. Now I no longer want to get married, but if I should happen to, I would want to be just like this couple. <3

    4. I love how honest she is that it really was hard to stay pure until her marriage, instead of seeming like one of those people who is absolutely perfect and never tempted. It’s wonderful to know that people aren’t perfect and that she and her husband turned to God to help them through their temptations and imperfections
