Faith Saver: Do You Judge People by Their Looks?

Ladies, evaluating someone on their inner qualities isn’t always an easy thing to do, especially when you first meet them. Often, we can’t help but make judgments based on physical appearances, whether consciously or unconsciously. And because of this, we often lose out on experiencing and enjoying someone’s beautiful heart!

I have a pretty amazing clip for you to see. I hope you enjoy it, and whether you consciously or unconsciously see people and judge them by their appearance, I pray that this changes your heart.

This is actually an old ad for a Swiss company, Pro Infirmis. It’s designed to get people to recognize their prejudices about people with disabilities, put their judgments aside and just get closer!

Ladies, we are called to make judgments, but only on a person’s actions. This is the only way we can decide if something is good or bad, or right or wrong. But we should never judge a person by their physical appearance. In doing do, we will surely miss out on those with a beautiful heart!

Ladies, do you think that you consciously or unconsciously judge people on their appearance?

    1. This is awesome. I’ve always been so guilty of judging people, especially when it comes to what they wear. I’ve recently seen how wrong our opinions can be. A couple years ago I met this guy and he kind of dressed kind of trashy. Recently, I’ve gotten to know him and I’ve discovered how sweet he is. I’m thankful God used that experience to show me how wrong and harmful our judgements can be.

    2. I always used to think that I didn’t judge people on their appearances. Recently, though, I realized that I judge people that are a little more “done-up” than me. I assumed that girls that dressed in expensive clothes or always styled their hair were stuck up. That’s not always true though! I’ve been trying not to judge on appearances any more.

    3. Oh my goodness, that was such a sweet video! 🙂

I know that I consciously or unconsciously make some sort of judgments about people when I see them for the first time. I think everyone does. It’s called a first impression. A lot of times a person’s choice of dress, hairstyle, and other aspects of their appearance can tell you a lot about them. It’s okay to have first impressions. They’re not always correct, though, and as Christians we have to make sure that we get to know a person before we make any kind of serious judgments about who they are. You should always be willing to get to know people, no matter what they look like.

    4. That was a lovely video, and I really like that song!
I think I am guilty of that quite a lot…I mean, I like to think I’m not, but I really am. Disabled people especially always make me nervous for some reason, even though I try not to show it.

    5. Wow! I love that bear, he was so cute, and I did not expect the ending! That is so amazing all of those people had no idea who the person in the bear costume was, but they still went up to him! So many times I judge people by their looks or fashion outfits, when I instead should look at their inner heart!

    6. I think everyone judges people on the way they look, whether it’s conscious or not. A person’s appearance is the first thing we notice about people. As long as we’re still willing to get to know people, I think that having a first impression on someone is okay.
