    Fashion: 5 Skirts for Spring

In our style survey last week, we asked you girls what items you would like to see rounded up in our top 5 posts, and several of you mentioned skirts! With that in mind, we went on a search for awesome springy, modest and inexpensive skirts. We found lots of great options and have narrowed it down to our top five picks.

If it’s still a little chilly where you are, you can always match these with fun, colored tights (ombre tights are all the rage right now!) and closed toe shoes. Soon enough, we’ll all have warm weather!

Peplum tops and skirts are really in right now, and this shade of blue is perfect for the warmer weather ahead! It’s listed on Zappos for $59, but is currently on sale at Macy’s for $34. Call ahead to make sure they have it in stock at your local store! (Kensie skirt in cyan, Zappos.com)

Mullet dresses and skirts (long in the back, shorter in the front) are another popular look this year. We love how this pink pleated version has been paired with orange shoes on the model. Chic! (Forever 21, $23)

Maxi skirts are cute and comfy, especially when they’re made with rayon or–better yet–jersey. We found this striped look in several basic color combos at many shops, so you’re sure to find something similar at your favorite local store. (Wet Seal, $19)

You can’t really tell in this photo, but this A-line skirt features a micro-polka dot print. It’s got a full burnished button placket at the front and is fully lined, woven and lightweight. (Forever 21, $23)

Women's Embroidered Sateen Skirts - Mid Tone Chambray

We’re really digging this skirt’s mid-tone chambray color and straight hemline with embroidered floral details. The skirt is 100% cotton with an elasticized smocked waistband. (Old Navy, $20)

    1. I am a BIG skrit wearer. These are all very cute, but jean skirts are my personal fav.(at least knee cap length), I also have a maxi skirt that I LOVE!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 I am so glad you did a thing on skirts!

      • Actually, they go by the names high-low, mullet skirt, and asymmetrical (though this one doesn’t necessarily have to be a high-low skirt). But I agree I don’t like the name mullet skirt but they are called that.

    2. My faves are the hi lo because they look really elegant and flowy on 🙂
I really don’t like the peplum one though because every fashion goes out of style sooner or later and I think peplum looks sort of silly :\ Maxi skirts are modest and floor length, but I don’t like the way they fit. Anyways,
thanks for doing this article on skirts, the fashion ones are always fun to read 😀

    3. I believe the style you called “mullet” is actually called “high-low”. ^^

I love the pink one the best! ^^ I got a really cute dark peach pleated midi-skirt for my birthday yesterday! Versona has TONS of modest skirt in their stores right now too! ^^ LOVE

    4. I would wear maxi skirts every single day. The only problem is that they are always a tad tight across the butt and show panty lines. It’s awful! I haven’t seen one yet that didn’t. The pleated ones are the way to go, but they’re harder to find. And usually more expensive. And not as comfy since they’re almost always silky and not jersey.
