February Book Club: “Wait for Me” by Rebecca St. James

My Sweet Valentine Girls,
I am so glad you are joining me in reading my Book Club selection for February, Wait for Me: Rediscovering the Joy of Purity in Romance, by Christian singer, author and speaker Rebecca St. James. Rebecca began recording Christian music before she was even in her teens and became famous as a teen and 20-something who stood up for purity and for waiting to have sex until marriage. In fact, she wrote a song that became famous called “Wait for Me.” And she really did. Rebecca waited for God to bring her soul mate until she was in her early 30s! (She got married in 2011 just like I did.) So believe me when I tell you that Rebecca understands how hard it is to wait for Mr. Right. Still, she did it, and I know you can too!
To help her on her journey to find love, Rebecca began writing love letters to her future husband when she was still a young teen. Even as she was winning Dove Awards for her music and traveling the world speaking and singing as one of the best-selling Christian pop singers, Rebecca had times when she was lonely and just wanted to fall in love. But she trusted the Lord and waited for His timing. In the book Wait for Me, Rebecca shares some of her story and the stories of other teens – some who stayed pure and some who didn’t – and the rewards and consequences that came with their choices.
This awesome book is so encouraging, especially around Valentine’s Day, when you may feel like you are the only one left in the world who is not hooking up with someone, hanging out with a special guy, or holding on to a boyfriend. If you are waiting, Wait for Me includes some great places to write down your own words of love to your future husband, so you can remember why he’s worth the wait!
Happy Valentine’s month, sweet ladies. Remember, you are LOVED!
Hugs and Kisses,
