Confident people are naturally more attractive, inside and out. If you feel you’re lacking in confidence, ask God to help you achieve the strength that will get you more respect and more daily joy. Here are some of my tips to help you feel more confident:
1. Accept a compliment!
When someone tells you your hair looks nice, your outfit is cute, that you look pretty – instead of playing the whole thing down, say, “Thanks, I appreciate it.” You’ll feel great and people will also want to compliment you more often if you take it graciously.
2. Stop apologizing!
Many people say “I’m sorry” too often, a lot of times stemming from insecurity. So become aware of it and only say you’re sorry when you truly are. You’ll feel more in control of your emotions.
3. Assume people like you!
Just this simple little trick helps boost your self-esteem and makes it easier to meet new people. If you believe it, people will see that and gravitate towards you.
4. Look people in the eye!
It seems easy enough, but many times if you’re feeling a little unsure or are shy to meet someone new, it’s easy to frequently look down or away. If you look the person in the eyes, they’ll see your confidence and in turn you’ll feel better about the conversation.
5. Accentuate the good!
Think of past compliments you’ve received that really made your day. Did someone compliment you on your handwriting? On your yoga skills? Write down everything you can think of and look at the list when you’re feeling down about yourself and remember how incredibly special you are!
