For King & Country “Priceless” Film and Song Release

Joel Smallbone—two-time Grammy-winning artist from the Christian band For King & Country—is the lead actor in the film Priceless, playing James Stevens, the troubled main character. The film was released on October 14, 2016, preceding the release of the song “Priceless” by the For King & Country band.

From Variety.com: “PRICELESS is the first film from the Smallbone Brothers. Ben Smallbone directs from the script by Chris Dowling and Tyler Poelle. The film was produced by Steve Barnett (300). David Smallbone and Luke Smallbone serve as executive producers, and Jacob “Cubbie” Fink is a co-producer. Roadside will release the film in theatres nationwide on October 14.”

Here are some of the lyrics from their song, titled the same as the film, which is so powerful.

“Priceless” Lyrics

Mirror mirror, mirror on the wall, Tellin’ those lies, pointing out your flaws, That isn’t who you are, That isn’t who you are… It might be hard to hear, but let me tell you dear…

If you could see what I can see, I know you would believe,
That isn’t who you are

There’s more to who you are…
So when it’s late, you’re wide awake
Too much to take
Don’t you dare forget that in the pain
You can be brave, hear me say

I see you dressed in white
Every wrong made right
I see a rose in bloom
At the sight of you (oh so priceless)
Irreplaceable, unmistakable, incomparable
Darling, it’s beautiful
I see it all in you (oh so priceless)…”

But when he discovers what he is delivering, he is faced with a life-changing choice. Can love, strength and faith redefine his past and change the course of his future? This unlikely hero must risk it all, confront the forces that oppose him and ultimately discover the life he was meant to live.”

The film is about the atrocities of human trafficking and sheds a light on what happens to real people in our generation. Let us pray this film shines a light in the darkness, and let us pray that the sex trafficking and the industry in general is shut down and put to a stop, in Jesus’ name. Let us also pray for the success of the film and for those involved in the film. Go to the official website for the movie at pricelessthemovie.com.

The song is one of my favorites off the new album and the film was very well done. Human trafficking is an intense subject, and this movie handled it very gracefully and gently, while still making very clear how evil it is.

This movie was such an eye opener for me. Being as sheltered as I am, I was not very informed about human trafficking up until this point. This movie really touched my heart because it IS something people face. I cannot imagine the pain, the fear, and the worthlessness they feel. But they are NOT alone. Antonia in this film clung to her faith even when terrible things were going on. I am so thankful for the opportunity to see this film. Please, I encourage you, if you have not seen it go see it!
